Peer to peer don’t work in Europe playing Americans all the time with 1700ms delay I am 12 ms come on bro
-
With region lock as well, no offence to people living in their respected countries but I’m not Interested on playing with people from another continent...in pvp..

1,500 Silver per month for access to premium Destiny 2 dedicated servers!
-
Neither does dedicated servers. Playing cross global matches will never be a flawless experience. Sure it could be improved but I think players would prefer new content over less laggy stasis matches
-
EXACTLY! I have 2.5 ms ping to Bungie servers in the USA, but 1400 ms delay to the players. So I See them a second later on my screen and mostly don't stand a chance :(
-
If Bungie made dedicated servers, that would be like Warner Bros' admitting casting a sparkly effeminate vampire as Batman was a bad idea, instead of cancelling it and going with the Snyder Trilogy. Those self righteous idiots at Bungie would rather spend the millions on a new office space that benefits the player base by a factor of x0, and in their own mind, they can never do wrong. How much did we lambast them on the idiocy of sunsetting before they figured reskinning existing weapons and making us farm new rolls of old ones was not something WE wanted.

Because $$$

Luke Smith has stated during a live interview that dedicated servers are a waste of an investment. So in other words, deal with it.
-
Because P2P is cheaper.
-
Move on and play other, better PvP games, D2 PvP is a joke and always will be a joke.
-
Completely agree but many posts like this in including my own have been and gone. So it ain't going to happen. If you want serious pvp I would try something else .
-
Unfortunately that is not going to happen any time soon, they would need to rewrite the netcode and also invest in the servers even if they rent them. Its painfully obvious that the game is no longer nothing else but a cash cow they milk the most out of with as little effort as possible while working on their new game, i would be extremely surprised if this happened. What they could do, is fix their matchmaking to minimize these problems. The game has always had horrible matchmaking and it has matched Europeans with players from other continents since the D1 days, and these P2P-connections don’t even work properly half the time when i’m playing someone on the other side of Europe 🤦♂️ The poor connectivity is the main reason why i stopped spending money on the game and will not buy DLC or even a season pass unless they finally sort this out. If i ever come cross another game that scratches the same pvp itch Destiny does, and it does not have these latency and hit reg issues, i’ll uninstall D2 instantly. Until then i’ll just vote with my wallet.
-
They'd have to rebuild the game from the ground up.
-
Im pretty sure bungie said in an interview that they have the option to add them and that theres no financial restraint, but because their P2P hybrid "works well enough" they wont do i
-
Peer to peer is baked into the engine dumbest decision they made with the game. They would have a lot bigger pvp base if there where servers, even pve would have retained more players. Hopefully they make better decisions with Matter and D3.

All you can really do is make sure you have low latency. Currently connection is peer to peer. I’m not sure how adding a computer between the connection in the US and EU makes it any faster. Seems like it would have the opposite effect, making it slower.
-
Destiny 2 is actually played on a hybrid system of P2P and Ded servers. The Ded server is used to host the game and P2P to connect players together in a mesh typology. PvE can't be done with only ded servers. They had to create a hybrid system to allow seemless entry and removal of players. PvP they got no excuses not to be on ded servers only. It's expensive is not a valid reason
-
The blend of p2p and servers they have now is actually not bad at all. It’s smooth, has good registration and can handle the load. Which is what it’s meant to do. The issues you’re having, which I have constantly, and many others have, is less to do with a lack of dedicated servers and more an issue of lack of region filtering. There should be a region filter built into the game. As it stands, the only way to accomplish this is with a router that has geofiltering. Currently, games are decided based on which team is lucky enough to live closest to the lobby server.
-
Because money. Seeing as majority of forums complained about Eververse, well never get dedicated servers unless you want this game to turn into a pay to win game.
-
ya know im done complaining about it, now that the shoe is on the other foot, the community -blam!- for months about wanting connection based only, and now we get what we deserve irony aside, why do we have to choose between connection based and skill based ? what its too hard to have both ? despite every single multiplayer out there doing the same since I dunno ........ 2005 cuz aparently its either play agaist ching chong hun laggy the entire lobby or pvp chad making pools of sweat
-
Because $$$
-
Man you touched on a perfect problem. Got people thinking cbmm was the answer when it's not...at least not completely anyways bc sbmm isn't either. Bad connections and latency are everywhere. It just so happens to usually benefit one party and not the other
-
Costs money, Who's going to pay for them? Bungie is too greedy and this game sure as hell isn't good enough for monthly subscriptions.
-
Unfortunately, Bungie does not *really* care about their cash cow (us) they care about their bottom line, and that means dropping worthless repetitive season after season content, but not taking a moment to consider that investment into community requests could yield better results. They found a model that works, and we, unfortunately, we support it, so why would they consider giving better service when they can just milk us for everything we got. I have been with for 4 years, and can honestly say, after all this time, i will finish out my 4 seasons and be done. It's like a bad relationship, you know you need to leave because you are only being used, but it's still hard to say goodbye. Anyway, point is, don't expect dedicated servers, skill-based matchmaking or anything that could make your life as a non-twitch streaming 200+ flawless trials player any better, as Bungie just does not care. Rant over

“It’s not an investment we feel we need to make”- Luke Smith Sad, but they’ve comfirmed this several times. Hopefully they surprise us with Witch Queen comes out
-
Its one of the reasons why im slowly drifting away from pvp and gambit. The lag is beyond bad, and the switch to ps5 is great, but its more obvious now when you empty a clip on someone and they take no damage but suddenly they can kill you with a few 120 shots. Its a trip. Same thing in gambit, add on top the teleporting ads and you have a complete shit sandwich. Its a shame because when the connection is solid its very crisp and dueling feels amazing. Kind wish they had the connection status like in d1 where you could tell when someone's connection was shite. The legends of the redbar
