And here it is again. Ability kills on a hunter...
-
i think supers bounty should be removed, game mercies before anyone can get a super
-
Play around you melee ability. I used hunter weighted knife and tripmine grenade. Warlock probably just try to land on good hc headshot and then finish with a celestial fire. Titan shoulder charge? If you do something like shoulder charge or weighted knife, where it is a OHK, tank your power by 30 or so so that it gives you bonus progress for being lower power level.
-
Better than heavy kills tho
-
2 RepliesPersonally hate having to be assisted by teammates to complete a bounty.
-
I like the assist teammates or get assisted bounty because it makes it so people can’t slide shotgun to finish the bounty. Or use Jotunn. Or bastion. Or really any of the really annoying weapons.
-
People having a tough time with this bounty is emblematic of the community's refusal to build around their abilities.
-
it is annoying but i found that if you shoot them a couple times before you punch them or throw a grenade it really helps

1 ReplyEdited by shwabbywabby: 3/28/2021 6:47:11 PMEven Chuck Norris doesn’t like to do that bounty!
-
Just spent hours doing this on my Hunter. Not a chance of doing it on my other two😂. omg never again
-
Not to mention the sheer amount of them, on top of the completely incompetent design choice of percentages so they don't have to come up with a set number that immediately turns people away from again, the sheer amount of them without the rare occurrence of actually doing one of the "bonus progress" scenarios in it.
-
2 RepliesOh but it’s so easy, I mean after all all you need to do is run stasis and you get free ability kills every time.
-
2 RepliesI don't even picked up that bounties, im so handless when using a super and stasis freezes light supers so easily that light subclasses should be removed in this case.
-
3 RepliesThe reason some people don't care for this bounty is the same reason people don't like being forced to get kills with specific weapons. It forces a specific play style. I like playing nightstalker in PvP because of it's neutral kit. So I can: Get kills with smoke bomb? Not often. Get kills with void grenades? More often than smoke bombs but not by much. Get kills with shadowshot? Lol... I usually just skip this one but this time around I switched to a roaming super and got it done over the course of like 10 matches. Was it fun? No. Did it get me out of my comfort zone? Yes Did it impact my game play positively? No Will I skip it next time? Yes Iron banner isn't the fun activity it once was so really I'm trying to spend as little time as possible in there. The effort to reward ratio for this quest just isn't there for me.
-
This is nowhere near as bad as the iron banner quests forcing you to use certain weapon types. Abilities should be a natural part of playing pvp and most people get this from super kills anyways. Sure, it's the last one I get done usually, but I didn't grind iron banner that had this week and still managed it. I'm maybe an above average pvp player on a good day.

4 RepliesWhile we are at it, remove the patrol variant “to the Nth power” (which is literally the same thing, but in PVE)
-
Just don't use stasis, don't know if it's a bug or what, but I did 5 games with stasis and it went up 0, swapped to solar and completed it in 3 games.
-
2 RepliesYou don’t have to do it if you don’t feel like it. This post should just say, “Bungie, just give me free tokens and a pinnicle”
-
Edited by wilco490: 3/28/2021 7:19:30 AMI understand, but just dont keep looking at the percentage on that bounty all the time 😂 I stopped doing that, it doesnt help if you keep looking Play and it'll come naturally
-
5 RepliesI find it goes faster if you don't use stasis.
-
Don’t use stasis. I got it done in about 10 games using a light subclass
-
7 RepliesWah wah wah. Just throw your grenades! You more than likely not throwing enough grenades! And punch stuff! Ya'll whine about the heavy ammo. Just throw some grenades punches some things and use you super.
-
4 RepliesDon't super kills count? I completed all the bounties within a couple games of each other not sure how many it took. Played solo just in the regular playlist Probably more than 10 but less than 12 games to get everything done
-
11 RepliesI didn’t back before light level was enabled. Remove light level enabled and those bounties are not much of a problem anymore. If your doing grenade kills weaken and enemy and throw a sticky nade at them. Even though you die you get the kill and progress. Same with melee kills. Weaken and enemy and quickly melee them. It’s a pain. But you can do it. Light level enabled throws that out the window when your to weak to do any damage at all. So blame bungie for changing something that didn’t need it. #removelightlevelenabled

Edited by jnikoley: 3/28/2021 6:37:00 PMThat was my first bounty completed on my Titan, but the last one on my Warlock. On the WL, I played at least as many more matches to complete it as all previous ones. It was a PITA. Edit: On Hunter now, last bounty after cashing in other three is ability kills, 76% done. 5 or 6 games should finish it. I’d suggest a light subclass. Stasis doesn’t count for regular crucible bounties, so it’s probably the same in IB.
-
Yup definitely the most annoying one that takes the longest to finish considering pretty much getting grenade kills or melee ability kills most times is just a fluke or pure luck. The only time you get progress for that one is from super kills and even then your lucky if you get around 4-5 or more super kills per match.
