So I guess that means that the Guardian from d2 is the Guardian from d1.
IDK this is just speculation.
Any one who played d1 and it’s dlc’s is counted as an iron lord, Saladin is no longer the last iron lord
-
6 RepliesAre you just now realizing this? 4 years into destiny 2 and you are just now realizing it’s the same guardian 🤦🏻 And y’all want bungie to take your complaints seriously.... dam you guys are incredibly slow
-
Yes, this is cannon. It's tragic that the Red War campaign got vaulted, which means this little bit of lore is that much harder to find. The very first interaction you had in the story was Shaxx addressing you as "Saladin's Young Wolf", which effectively erased any doubt.

Edited by MC 077 Lasombra: 3/23/2021 4:27:42 PMSorta but story wise it’s irrelevant. They’ve written so it doesn’t matter if your the hero from D1 or not. Any newborn guardian can fill the role as The Guardian. It’s a joke.

2 RepliesI'm sure as others have pointed out, there are MANY voice lines that veteran players get to hear in the game that D2-only players don't. However I think most of that was in vanilla D2, but I distinctly remember hearing voice lines referencing D1 events that my newbie friends didn't receive in their playthrough
-
We’ve known this for years...,hell during shadowkeep during the tower strike eris literally tells us that hashlidun(spelling?) felt US kill omnigul, oryx and crota
-
Maybe it's a title he uses for all Guardians he likes. He's probably gone through quite a few of them in the past few hundred years.

1 ReplyI thought it was always different for each person who jumps in on D2. During the very start of the game, it shows what you've accomplished during D1. So that is who the current character is in D2 embarking onto the next biggest story that awaits you. (A continuation of your story transitioning from D1 to D2) If you didnt play D1 you're simply a new light on a new journey. I think the Young Wolf is like a title for Saladin and isnt subject to just one Guardian in my opinion.
Also, would like a 'Young Wolf' Title, i would grind the hell out for that Title.
1 ReplyExcept if you played Rise of Iron and finished the campaign you should be an Iron Lord not a young wolf.

4 RepliesEdited by Twist Ledgendz: 3/22/2021 1:13:10 PMI I... WHAT? If you played D1... Jesus Patrick stewart and Jonathan frakes aren't enough for a facepalm. I played destiny since the D1 beta... My hunter is literally the same character as the one in d1, d2 is a continuation of your story. If you didn't play d1 at all, your d2 character is a new light. Does that makes sense because for me this is common knowledge
-
1 ReplyShaxx called you Saladin's young wolf in the very first mission of vanilla D2, & Zavala mentions you destroying the heart of the black garden in the inverted spire strike.
-
5 RepliesEdited by Gloobinator: 3/22/2021 7:28:01 AMIf the account you're playing on has any d1 progress at all, you get special veteran dialogue Examples are the one tomb "cutscene" in the corridors of time and some dialogue in the red war campaign This works for cross save too I'm pretty sure
-
Canonically the Guardian is the same as the one from D1. We did too much important stuff to retcon that.
-
He throws that title around to every guardian he meets, I wouldn’t think much of it
-
Gaurdian lore is very tricky as theres 3 eras of gaurdians those made before the the red war those after and new lights who are resurrected around forsaken/shadowkeep
-
-
I thought this was common knowledge?
-
So are you a cat person? I mean there's nothing with that.
-
3 RepliesYup Don't let anyone tell you otherwise
-
Mine is... Yours is just confused I think.
-
as he should! i mean destiny 2 is a sequel, so it makes the most sense to just continue the story instead of there being 2 different stories about 2 different guardians
-
Eros called me Kingslayer. Least she actually remembers Oryx after all this time.
-
2 RepliesOdds are it’s only supposed to work for returning guardians from D1, since you’re only a Young Wolf if you beat the Rise of Iron campaign. If you created your guardian in Vanilla D2 onwards, it’s not supposed to be a Young Wolf.
-
It's obvious, Axe is my favorite weapon. Axing is my way of life. Rise of Iron! Raise my Axe!
-
Guardian, Archon Of LightArchon Priest Of House Light - old
Saladin is just confused, you still are not the Slayer Of Oryx -
1 ReplyThere's a Help forum issue which relates to this. It's a bug. Pay no attention to it. Once it gets fixed, the dialogues will return to normal.
