No other subclass melee is as effective as the hunter shuriken. It tracks to multiple targets, it ricochets, it slows, it reduces accuracy, it reduces reload speed, it has extreme range and you can have 2.
Why does it need to do all these things? That's too many things. No other class melee has that many effects.
Oh it wont track "as far" AFTER it hits someone? Oh it doesn't freeze "as fast" now? But it still slows, and does all that other stuff?
WELL THEN ITS STILL GOING TO BE A PROMLEM
If you keep half assing it with the tuning, its going to be years before this gets pared down enough to be on par with the other melee abilities.
Introducing stun and slow mechanics into a game centered on fast paced movement has to be the biggest bonehead idea in gaming since ET on Atari.

Yeah absolute shuriken are pretty broken they shouldn't get 2 of them and on that note only warlock should be able to throw their melees not Hunters
-
1 ReplyMine don't track right now so I'm pretty sure after the nerf they'll be useless...
-
They need to nerf the shit out of slow. The whisper of durance could also use a looking at.

4 RepliesMinor, more consistent changes are what the game needs. Knee-jerk nuke changes don't solve anything; they just recreate the Nova Warp issue.

1 ReplyEdited by michael: 3/23/2021 2:16:15 AMMy biggest concern about this balance patch is that not enough was addressed, but that the sandbox team will consider it to be enough and leave stasis untouched. The more casual/non-pvp playerbase will also probably get complacent, and say "no more nerfs" etc. The problem is that I really dont think this patch will be enough. 1. The slow status effect is unchanged. Shurikens will still bounce around corners and make you unable to move or effectively shoot your gun for five seconds. This is one of the most broken abilties destiny 2 has ever had, in my opinion up there with flawless execution, marked for vengeance, and handheld supernova, and the only thing being changed is the amount of stacks of slow it applies per shuriken in order for it to no longer freeze with two. But I don't care about being frozen when slow does just as well to render me unable to fight back. 2. Shatterslide is unchanged. The speed and distance at which shotgunning behemoths can close gaps with this ability is ridiculous. It reminds me of icarus dash, but being a slide ability it is way too effective when paired with shotgunning. It is extremely unpredictable and difficult to counter unless you play as baity as possible and outright avoid engagements, which is a recipe for a broken ability; handheld supernova, shurikens, and oem all shared/share this trait of basically forcing you to not take engagements. Duskfield nerf is good, glacial quake nerf is good, shatterdive nerf is good, but shurikens and shatterslide being untouched worries me. Hopefully the other nerfs are enough to get people to stop using stasis, and shatterslide and shurikens will not be enough to get people to keep using behemoth and revenant

Why not just wait and see? I personally think it’s a massive nerf as it is, What makes it OP was the ability to team wipe or at the very least freeze them. Both of these are gone which puts it in a way better spot, It’s going to be nearly impossible for Hunters to freeze anyone now
-
6 Replies“No other melee is as effective” Warlocks instantly freeze Titan has charge melees that can one shot, plus the stasis one will kill if you hit them against the wall
-
You are able to throw two in a row WAY too fast, as well.
-
make it travel the same speed as the warlock melee or at least give it the same reduction, aso it should track less cuz it doe bend a little towards targets
-
A dodge + double shurikens will still freeze
-
4 RepliesThey should've kept the damage and tracking as is, but instead removed the slowing and freezing capabilites entirely. On their own they are still a good ranged melee without slowing/freezing. It's very easy to angle them off a wall to kill someone who is damaged and behind cover.
-
And that's why I love it

3 RepliesEdited by ChaseyCakes: 3/21/2021 3:00:43 PMSlow shouldn't affect your weapon accuracy, aiming/sensitivity, jumping or class abilities.
-
The witherblades themselves are fine, the slow and freeze is not. Less of an issue with the ability, more of an issue with stasis innately.
-
I'm pretty sure that Bungie knows very well that this first series Nerfs to Stasis is still not enough. Eventually in the future (maybe two or three months from now knowing Bungie's paste when is about patches...) others will come.
-
Shhhh you’re going to trigger the hunter crowd. They’ll bring pitch forks and down vote you into oblivion!
-
Slowing in general needs a nerf and shuriken damage should be back to how it was with headshots doing more. That’s all
-
I'm still waiting to see what the change will actually do in game Hopefully it's enough ....I'm just glad warlock is getting fixed while the others get nerf....that's a rare sight
-
The nerfs to the frisbees themselves honestly seem fine. The real issue is how strong the slowed effect is.
-
2 RepliesDude...Warlocks can instant freeze people and you complain about something which requires either a Grenade or a second Melee charge to freeze people.
-
Well at least be grateful that they nerfed it in the first place
-
9 RepliesIt cant freeze at all after the nerf. Freeze is from 100 stacks...shuriken does 40 stacks after the nerf. You'd need to hit 3 to freeze. Warlock can 1 hit freeze and is much better. Yesterday in trials i got a tripple kill with 1 melee on warlock easily....they tried reviving i melee once and got all 3 with it.
-
Remember when Stasis first landed and Hunters flooded the forums whining about how they only get one fragment, they dont have anything, shurikens suck etc... How the turns have tabled 😂
-
The most broken thing about it is that it takes away your ability to retreat from being ganked in 1v2 situations and if you're running by an opening and get hit you stop right out in the open and get cleaned up or team shot and if you arent running a shotgun you have to just sit there as the footsteps get closer and closer 🤕
-
I think damage reduction is enough, I'm tired of being killed by one when hide behind cover. Literally a free kill for the hunter without aiming.
-
11 RepliesYeah it’s all fine that they’re reducing everything’s ability to freeze and get kills after but slow is just as much of a problem, if not more because of how unavoidable slow is when compared to freeze. Slow should only slow, all the other BS needs to get out of there.
