400 ACTIVITY COMPLETIONS HOLY HELL DUDE. It took my brother 8 months to finish like WTF it's not like you get a God gun for completing it. You just get one perk on one gun. The value should drop by 2x. Witherhoard 150 Eriana 200 or even less tbh. Both 100 would be FAIR. This shit is what makes me hate Destiny sometimes. 400 NIGHTFALLS IS ABOUT 100 HOURS STRAIGHT OF NIGHTFALLS TO GET ONE PERK. Who in fucpping hell decided to make this official?????????

Edited by Nobody.: 8/5/2021 8:21:08 PMCheer up. It could be a LOT worse. I've been Hunter main for almost 4 years now - missed a couple seasons tho. Occasionally I would drag my Warlock & Titan up close to the same levels as my Hunter. I've worked on Eriana's Vow Catalyst for many hours (as hunter) - even spent a couple Saturdays running only strikes. Lately I've been trying to learn/get better with my Warlock and work thru campaigns. A couple days ago I noticed that Eriana's catalyst was as 397/400 so resumed running strikes as warlock. Noticed gunsmith had a crown icon, went there, picked up mission without thinking. My Eriana's Vow Catalyst progress is now at 1 (ONE). Feels like I got gut-kicked 20 times. I shouldn't have been so careless but I say: the game shouldn't allow me to wipe my catalyst progress. Still considering uninstalling but probably won't. I've quit 3 times but always come back. On the bright side: You will get Eriana's catalyst before me :) Edit: Umm, looks like I got the catalyst and now have the Upgrade quest - get 700 kills for the upgrade. Well then, not uninstalling. :)
-
Oh well. Should've should've done it in the correct season for 4x progress
-
wow , didn't see people complaining about pve in a while ,btw it's a game
-
I finally completed both of these fully yesterday. It was a long long grind without the catalyst acceleration. With the finish line in sight I was seriously questioning my sanity running the same lost sector repeatedly.

3 RepliesEdited by Fish: 3/22/2021 10:19:36 AMThey seasonal exotic quest aren't much different from some of the older masterwork grinds. I tried masterworking Sunshot and jumped less than five precent after a strke. I decided I didn't want it masterworked that badly. Edit: I appreciate the reccomendations but I'm already aware of them. I'm the type of guy that likes to kill two birds with one stone. I'll get masterwork progress while doing other things.

2 RepliesI got mine done in a week though thx to the catalyst progression stuff on its season pass. It wasn't hard at all to complete and the Witherhoard is totally worth the grind as it's the king of PvE kinetic weapons!
-
2 RepliesPiece of advice. If you actively pursue these catalysts you will drive yourself insane, and will make the grind seem much longer than it actually is. These catalyst quests were always designed to be completed in the season they released, since they get a 4x multiplier towards their progress. Since that’s gone now, don’t actively hunt for it. Just play the game as per usual and let it slowly build up over time. One day it’ll just finish itself off and then you can go masterwork it then.
-
Lol I got the Erianas Catalyst only this season since the first weapon appeared in the game , and I'am good with it :). This gun actually helped me get Ace, with those crits in pvp.
-
Edited by chickengoujohn93: 3/20/2021 8:20:40 PMWas meant to be completed in their respective seasons. Anyone who didn’t purchase the season gets a free weapon and catalyst through the Kiosk. Those who purchased the season got a premium XP buff to complete the quests 4 times faster.
-
It is a pain especially since it was designed to be completed in the season it was released, however PSA, Erianas catalyst quest can be completed without it being equipped. You just need it in your inventory on your character and not in the vault.so you're free to use another energy weapon whilst playing other activites normally
-
1 ReplyYou're looking at it wrong. Don't worry so much about the catalyst quest. It'll make progress seem like it's going slow. Forget about Eriana's. Just play the game as normal. Do your pinnacles, do some Bottom Dollar farming, knock out some Rumble matches, jump into IB with friends/clanmates, chill out and play some low-level ordeal strikes, etc. You'll have it done before you know it.
-
Edited by skf4: 3/21/2021 5:49:25 PMThe Catalyst on Erianna's vow is worth it. You should have it done by now?
-
I did it, took a few months. just play normally, or just do 10 strikes a day. it's worth it, erianas is a beast
-
12 RepliesWould help if Eriana's was worthwhile enough to even have in your inventory, much less use. But it's not, it's really, really not. I could build a house faster than that thing reloads, and I'm certifiably clueless about construction work.

I don't know if I reset Gambit twice or three times.... Got quite good at it as well. Then they removed Gambit Prime. The new Gambit is easily the fastest way to get the points now.

Just play. You’ll eventually get it. It’s worth it.

When each of these weapons released in their season there was a unlock on the season pass that boosted progression of their catalysts quests, this boost was only available during that season, this encouraged you to at least finish the quest that season to unlock the catalyst, when the season was over the boost was gone, anyone with the quest still in their possession then has to complete the quest 1/1 on the activities required where as before with the boost it was 4/1 progression.

Edited by Quiet_Bushi: 3/20/2021 9:21:27 AM
400 ACTIVITY COMPLETIONS HOLY HELL DUDE.
During the Season when the Weapons are released, in the Season Pass there is a "boost" 4x for its completition. We lost it (yeah, me too for the Eriana's). Right now I'm at 375/400 for the Eriana's Vow lol but I basically just played the game and let it complete by itself slowly. Took many Seasons, of course. I never grinded for it, it would have been crazy.

those took awhile.

2 RepliesIt's a shame they vaulted Io and the whisper mission. The taken thrall Hall was where I farmed nearly every catalyst. There's always the shattered throne farm though I suppose.

It’ll passively complete; which is the intention. 3. Wither hoard and eriana are still pretty top tier. One for AOE dot damage similar to anarchy, and the other a HC that functions like a sniper AND is anti barrier. Auto loading is dope on both since one only has a single round in the chamber and the other reloads slow as hell. 4. Stop raging and complaining because you actually have to do more than an activity or two to get what you want.
-
400 is too long, no doubt. But they are both worth it.
-
Took me 2 whole seasons to get Ariana's Deagle catalyst done. Seems pretty worth the grind to me, has its uses in NF's.
-
1 ReplyNah you just being lazy, catalysts weapon quest its been easy since season 8,season pass owner can get their progress quickly with omega boost. Eriana ,Symmetry, Whiterhoard,Tommy’s Matchbook,Duality, and Ticuu’s Divination very easy to masterwork
-
Erianas was my very first exotic--got it the season I started playing. I had no idea what catalysts were back then, so I didn't do much to unlock it that season. Now, over a year later, I'm not even half way done. At this rate, grinding the catalyst is just a frustration generator. I hope Bungie changes this, but it's come up many times in the past and nothing has been done. New director FTW? Please?
-
2 RepliesI was wondering the same thing when I completed those requirements, after I got the Symmetry and I was disappointed to find that also needed 400 activities for catalysts! This ridiculous forced grinding has let some to pay to those accounts recovery ridiculous amounts of money like 600 dollars for the Witherhoard catalysts, which is disgusting !
