What the hell is going on in the Retrofuturist lore tab?
Is... is that Savathun? Cause Christ that’s some implications if so.
Edit: Far future’s is pretty wild too, if not a little confusing.

As far as the Retrofuturist... Taox maybe. Could be sava, could be a being that transcended their prior shape... Far Future though, this could be fun. OXA - clarvoyence machine. We can say we defeated psions that use the vex network, but can you say you defeated all of their forks, the possibility of them intersecting with us again. There is a huge amount to unpack. In one of the battlegrounds Saladin and Osiris suggest taking a psion and putting them in the network under their orders. Almost like a CoD Cold War storyline, you take an enemy and bend their will to suit your needs...maybe give them drugs too. There are many lore things referencing the totality of the end...literally something(s) trying to design an end of EVERYTHING (every concievable thing that was thought or defined). We are dealing with beings competing to be...honestly God, not god(s). I don't want to say christian God, often I think more like Azathoth (blind, deaf, dumb god)...sounds like something Retrofuturist suggest "[i][b]I watch them frolic blithely beneath their oblivious god.[/b][/i]" . What if we could shape Azathoth from a horrifying visage, or keep it's reality/existence ending awakening caged? Please understand, this is a theme that Bungie's top games constantly face, Pathways to Darkness, Marathon, and bet Halo (haven't kept up on it) is taking a more subtle approach to it. We are facing a concept, the darkness and light even have to face this truth, everything ends. Can we cage reality (like how Rasputin ties the anomaly to all reality...an axiom pops into existence within its caged area, all reality ceases)? We designed tools to predict, to think, to fight the entropy of existence...are the Guardians designing a thought cage so convoluted that the "Oblivious" god (quoted because it knows what is happening and it is a good idea, even to it) will never gaze upon itself, and play ignorance. 1 Replyso i read it and... this got me thinking. if it is savathun i take it she’s somehow either disguised herself as a guardian, or is watching through the eyes of one. either way we’re in a bit of a pickle here

1 ReplyIt it's Savathun then it implies she has some form to infiltrate the City, or a spy somehow. Also if Shaxx has heard her viral song then maybe she is influencing him and able to observe Crucible matches?

1 ReplySpeculation is Savathun observing guardians 🤷♂️ Refers to not knowing who true enemy is, ghosts as perfect beings, resurrection by ghosts as sacrilege, the traveller light no longer burns while looking at it, description of guardian as almost disgusting sounding pile of sweat, bacteria and meat which implies the observer is something beyond physical.
