pinnacle gear, repeating problem.
So ive experienced a very repetitive pattern with pinnacle gear i get each week. Today is a perfect example. Ive gotten three pinnacle pieces today and theyve all been chest pieces repeating the same light lvl. You think there would be anyway to maybe go about making it more spread out?? i hope so it would be nice to actually progress in light when pinnacle grinding versus repeating the same lvl and gear over and over.

It’s a reward system that often randomly kicks you in the ribs.

Technically it is rng, which is supposed to be completely random. Maybe you just had bad luck. Happened to me the previous season, i needed a helmet to maxcap, and for 2 weeks i got everything else exept helmet. Got it the next week from NF.

Has been a problem since pinnacles existed, if it hasn’t been dealt with by now it never will.

Same...no pinnacle dropping. Another thing that's not dropping....the reward for killing the High Celebrant. The only way to get the ship is through that mission. I've run it twice on different guardian classes and still nothing. Think this is the sign that I need to go play another game for a while and stop spending money getting season passes for D2. Come on Bungie, stop blaming Covid and get your heads out of your........

That's RNG for ya. I hit level 21 on my artifact first before I was able to get the piece I needed and that's just the one character. If players got what they wanted, then possibly those players might stop playing.

So yes, you are correct. It's a repeating problem. It all started at D1 year 1. An item that you needed to get you capped is so rare to drop community called it trolling and made a meme called "Forever 29!" Because you can't get to level cap 30.😂😂😂 Then they did it again on D1 year 2 around after Taken King. The helmet and the class item are so rare they have to put those 2 items to drop randomly on the SRL activity! And even then, the SRL activity is so stingy they also dropped rarely at power cap level!😂😂😂 Now we are back again on the same issue. It's so bad even your Iron Banner pinnacles repeat themselves, like 4 boots when you need just one chest armor.😂😂😂 Gamers have been telling them this 3 or more times now for the last 6 years, and you'd think they would learn from past mistakes. Guess what?...they didn't. Because this is a game mechanic that they use in order to extend artificial grind. It's not RNG. It's intentional! They did it before, they're doing it again now!😂😂😂 This is a remnant of an old system from the previous leadership. They recently changed leadership, and the new leadership is working on a lot of new changes to the game. Sadly, they did not include this one on their list! Which means they don't want to change it yet. So yeah. Because it's not on their list of things to do right now, as far as I've read in the new leadership's plan. Expect this broken loot repetiton over and over in future installments. Because it's intentional. It's Logic! Hey, is that a Hamster over there?... 😂😂😂 💩!

1 ReplyJust got a pinnacle helmet that was 1302, my current best is 1303. I don't even know what my gambit pinnacle was (I played my least favourite mode for nothing) I gained only a 1302 kinetic from vanguard. So my base power without the artifact is around 1301. Shouldn't pinnacles be 2 levels higher?

The worst is getting the +1 pinnacle and then getting the +2 pinnacle of the same thing after you already wasted the material to upgrade the first one.

2 RepliesSo between this week and last I needed 1 cloak as a pinnacle to max out my Hunter and a helmet and chest piece to max out my Warlock. 17 pinnacle activities later and 0% success rate. Still looking for the hunter cloak and Warlock helmet and chest piece. I normally don't mind the pinnacle grind but something feels off with it this season and I am getting fed up with it.

This post will massively suffer from selection bias. Most people who respond will be the ones who have had shit RNG making this problem seem way worse than it is. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selection_bias This week I ran three pinnacles and got the last two pieces I needed. The chance of that is very small - so I was extremely lucky. Last week I ran warlock and all I needed was armor (5 in 8) chance. I ran most of the pinnacles and got two drops that helped (one was guaranteed from prophecy). This was ridiculously unlucky. With that said I don’t disagree that some kind of bad luck protection would be a really good thing where each time your chance of getting a pinnacle on your lowest piece of gear goes up materially. Maybe guaranteed every third pinnacle where the drop is random so you know your efforts won’t be wasted. (Not raid or prophecy) At least next season the power grind RNG is gone.

this has been the case since 2014. most drops will be same item. Two days ago i decrypted 4 or 5 exotics for my titan. all were arm exotics. Ive complained about this for years. Its a real thing. bungie knows this also btw. They do it to slow the grind down and take longer. you will notice this with iron banner etc etc etc on a certain day a vendor will give out specific things until the next day.

I wanted at least one weapon upgrade and only got armor same items over and over! This is the only game I've play that does this! Poor programming no excuse! Time to search for a better use of my time like Outlanders!

bungie has promised dupe protection since 2015 and you know what, they either can't figure it out or they are just full of words to appease the masses but, don't actually work towards what they promise.

This is soooo not a new issue. I suffer from this every week and have for, well ever. And its not just pinnacles but raid drops, this seasons ritual weapons, ect. The worst for me was the d@#^ Braytech RL for the Wayfarer title. Every week it was available I'd endlessly run 'Strange Terrain' it took me dang near a full year and hundreds of runs to get it to drop. SO BUNGO WHEN THE HELL ARE YOU GOING TO LISTEN TO US!?!?!?!?!

I’ve found out that if you only have the equipped gear on your character then you get better drops or try getting a crappie lower engram to drop before going for the higher needed ones👌

Even if they won’t get rid of this RNG, it should at least be that you get a higher power helmet each time it’s a repeat.

I must have gotten 20 drops or so at 1301 this season. I vaulted all my gear and finally started to see 1302. Something is definitely busted or should be changed. Maybe with less of a grind it’ll be different in the next few seasons.
