I agree that there is little to no reward for doing these lost sectors and even when an exotic drops there is not a drop protection ensuring that the exotic was worth your time or was even something you were missing. I would rather be farming materials to forge a determined exotic armor that i already have that has the roll i want similar to how the raid chest works or kinda how the original umbral engrams work except this would actually be worth my time. Just throwing out numbers, but if we got 5 mats per Legend completion and 15 per mats master completion and 25 mats per grandmaster completion with an additional 5 mats for it being a platinum completion and doubling all available loot and drop chances for running it solo and doubling all available loot and drop chances again for doing it all flawlessly. At the above structure I would find it fair to have to spend 200-500 for more deterministic rewards that would actually make it into my endgame play. You could reset how many of these people can hold per week or put a cap of 500 on it. And then 200 gets you a specific exotic with a random stat roll of an exotic you already have and then 500 gives you a specific exotic with a guarantee high stat roll. Or even if deterministic rewards are a no go, i would still agree with the same system and would spend 250 to be able to upgrade or customize my current stat rolled exotic that i already have. In addition, I swear that me and my group have done ~100 completions of platinum'd lost sectors since we have gotten 4th horseman and the catalyst has not been dropping (telesto catalyst also seems to have a similarly unforgiving drop rate). Does the 4th horseman catalysts still drop anymore? My fire team is not certain the 4th horseman catalyst even exists at this point. It should be necessary to get some form of drop protection to scale the drop rate of exotics and catalysts which grows higher per completion until it guarantees the drop after your 20th attempt without a exotic or a catalyst drops. we shouldn't have to be farming more than 100 of these to get less than 50 enhancement cores and 100 Legendary shards for the total effort and nothing particularly good from it. Given my luck, i got less than 7 total exotics which i immediately dismantle due to bad rolls and not being something i was missing with an ok roll for those my attempts. Not to mention no 4th horseman catalyst dropping, which is the only reason at this point that I continue to bother with legendary lost sectors. The loot available in legend/master lost sectors are not consistent with the effort involved, even considering the exotic drop rates. Personally, I also find it unfortunate that there is not a grandmaster lost sector option and that lost sectors are not considered vanguard content for the purpose of quest progress or exotic cipher quest progress. TLDR: current reward structure for the harder lost sectors are not worth it at all.

I have the same issue. the first run is away fine, i see the box show up that says platinum rewards. However after that first run the box never shows up again unless i close the game and reopen it. i understand the drop rates are low, but not seeing the box show up leaves me thinking that there is a error and the game is not registering it. if it is a visual bug then i would feel more comfortable repeating the lost sector if bungie acknowledged it and put that in one of the TWABs as a error they plan to fix some day.

So you had one other clear after your first 2 then came to complain you didn’t get anything? Your first 2 runs had 42 kills and your last one had 37 doesn’t sound like you cleared the run properly
