What happened to the old death sounds from players?
Nobody is really talking about this and I’m pretty confused. I feel like there were way more variations of grunt noises and death sounds coming from your character as well as other players before. I kinda miss all the old death sounds, especially this one https://youtu.be/WAMA6Ab5ZiA

There's only 2 voice actors for characters now I think. One male, one female

They were changed when our characters masculine and feminine traits were altered.

2 RepliesAs long as they never nerf that satisfying splatter sound when someone domes you or the sound of your legs cracking when you fall from a very high height and you-weren't-supposed-to die-but-you-still-did-because-you-somehow-hit-the-ground-2-times sound then I'm fine.

9 RepliesThe fun Destiny 2 brought to the table dropped off steeply when they stopped being funny. We went from amazing voice actors like Nathan Fillion and his Cayde6 character to... "let's be all [b][i][u]SERIOUS[/u][/i][/b]" This is a better game when it's infused with comedy. Not sure what happened (probably Forsaken), but the comedy needs to return.

6 RepliesIt really dosen't make sence for a noise to pop up like that. Just a breath coming out is more realistic. If they can make a noise like that their not dead yet.

I remember sitting in my character screen near the railing in the tower and having it sound like an orgy was going on near me plenty of times because of people jumping over the railing. I also remember that coming up in the forums on a few occasions. Maybe that had something to do with the 'death sound' changes. 🤷🏻♂️

1 ReplyThe changes were made when Forsaken dropped if I recall. My assumption was that your characters death noises were changed to accomodate the supposedly darker tone shift Forsaken brought to the game. I vividly remember my Human male Hunter making a yelp noise every now and then on death, which always made me laugh. I do miss it.
