I literally thought of this 5 minutes ago. Could Gravity be the 3rd Darkness element?
I think it could be a viable opposite of Void.

Sounds very cool but I worry that in PvP it would be another means of slowing down the gameplay which is already very frustrating with stasis. Although being able to stop hunters pogoing around the map would be satisfying.

5 RepliesIt'd make sense, because it seems like the darkness subclasses are going to be opposites of the light subclasses. -Solar (heat/energy) and Stasis (cold/entropy) -Arc (gets personified a lot in lore, implying it could be life force) and a possible Decay (death) subclass Void (name implies empty space) and Gravity (extremely dense objects like black holes) Don't know if they'll go with gravity as the element itself, but it could definitely be themed around it.

Given the implications of the lore of what stasis is and how the customization works, I believe we are likely just getting new subclasses with a new super with each expansion. For one, even at the current rate stasis hasn’t been fully implemented as an element like the current ones. It would make sense to have two more elements that also have missing mechanics ( basically enemies with those respective elemental shields ) Second they sort of implied that because the customization for stasis only works for one super, they would have to make a whole new subclass for a new super. Lastly the darkness imposing on reality with more than one cosmically unnatural elemental wouldn’t make sense lore wise as its whole philosophy is simplicity. Why have a diversity of unnatural elements that do different things when you can impose one that does it all?

I just want the power of the architects, would be the most powerful guardian ever known...
-
Nah, the game couldnt handle that much verticality
-
6 RepliesNo... the architects
-
I can see it now. Send people helplessly into the air. I'm sure that won't annoy the PvPers at all.
-
[Architects have entered the chat]

Void has a gravity pull. Doesn't fit. Unless it Removes energy, it won't happen.
-
Void by another name is gravity. Mentioned in quite a few vids over the years :)
-
*looks at Vortex Grenade* Ahh, no.

1 ReplyWhatever they introduce, I hope it inspires as many tears and tantrums as Stasis does 😂
-
4 RepliesSteal zaryas abilities this time
-
1 Replywhatever the next darkness subclass is, i hope it’s color is red!
-
4 RepliesI was hoping that we would get some sort of madness/mind control subclass, though it probably wouldn't work in PvP.
-
1 ReplyI never thought of that being Void's opposite, but I like it. With Stasis being hit-or-miss on what it is the opposite of, being Solar because it's ice or Arc being it's the total absence of energy, Void was always the hardest one to imagine because it's already the closest to Darkness Guardians ever got before Stasis.

Saw a fan made concept of this on Twitter earlier and looked really nice
-
Ooh like the force, would be cool, too bad people would complain about it in PvP
-
A grenade that you manually trigger like the launchers. Trigger a mini black hole 15’ above someone hiding behind cover, pulled out and floating helplessly for a few seconds!
-
40 RepliesBtw,Void is a darkness subclass nobody just wants to admit that
-
Gravity waves are important, I could see that being a way to define an end, like Rasputin stated: At the end of things when the world goes dim and cold or hot and close or it all tears apart from the atom up... It's what makes the gravitational waves and gravity that needs to be explained, it's not just mass, it's what holds the mass together.
-
3 RepliesDoubt it. Being able to change gravity requires a lot of coding and it’s very hard to do. Even in prophecy they don’t change gravity in the cube room
-
i don’t want more high jumping...
-
They couldn't do gravity right anyway if they tried. Hoping it's poison or decay; would love to finally see actual dot ticks or life leech to some degree.
-
1 ReplyYou could be right, or maybe it is a earth or rock think idk
-
I would love to see a "Dredgen" subclass something greenish and with mixed light subclasses abilities from different trees.
