Everytime I load into the crucible, I face a team full of flawless players, max light players, etc. I get crushed over and over again, and I really wish I could play people at my skill level. Will there ever be skill based matchmaking? Or will I just need to stop playing crucible...

24 RepliesSkill based was awful and defeats the purpose of crucible. When it was active, it made every match a sweat fest if you had some skill. It was just everyone running meta weapons and cheesy loadouts. There was no chill matches to try new weapons, builds, or just to have fun.

Crucible dropped down to near Y1 player count when sbmm was active
-
Play survival its the only sbmm gamemode left
-
The pvp community just championed for 3 years to get sbmm removed. Lol

18 RepliesI get my bounties done, ignore the objectives and cheer when the game ends in a mercy because that just means I got my rewards early. Crucible is a joke, it was never intended to be anything more than a place to go goof off. Whatever lumps a bunch of people together and gets me in and out faster, I don't feel like having 5 minute queues between matches just to have a more balanced experience.

Competitive has sbmm

2 RepliesYa skill based is a joke. I’ve lost 8 games in a row in survival going above 2.0 every game and the most kills on both teams. My teammates are no where near my level so why are they in my game?
-
2 RepliesSo get better at the game or stack up for crucible. Although I do agree the matchmaking is kinda shitty
-
2 RepliesI get decimated either way...
-
19 RepliesHaha - no way. No one should experience or go back to sitting in orbit for 10-15 minutes to get a match. If SBMM is added back, it should be for new light players, to get accommodated to the Crucible.
-
1 ReplyJust learn to exploit skill based, I’m about to especially if they’re stupid enough to implement it on trials.
-
Both matchmaking are trash.

7 RepliesI 100% understand where you're coming from the unfortunate part about them bringing skill-based matchmaking is the devs know that people will manipulate their skill by going into Rumble matches all week long and tanking their skill rating so they can go to the trials and get easier matchups. I wish quick play kept it however and didn't effect trials. Even though it wasn't perfect still kept people in their own lanes to a point. Now as you stated every single quickplay game is full of Unbroken and Flawless that run around and crap on people that aren't even close to being at their skill level and should never be matched up against them. After all quck play was intended for casual players, but has become the sweatiest pvp mode. At least in Trials if you go in and get curb stopped you can still grind out a 3 win reward and get some decent loot out of it.

Yes please.

In the not too distant future you will probably be able to play people at your skill level more often if you havent been already. I can't see how there won't be many more options as far as how things are set up.

I disagree.. I have played the game for a long time and will admit.. I'm not a great crucible player.. I have had some good games here and there.. Whenever I have ground and ground and ground recluse and randys for example.. and others, I was very much competitive when I was done with the bounties.. I had to learn how to 'git gud' or suffer longer.. I would run back to PVE.. and even be better at that.. I'm not a crucible guy in destiny... but damn , it will keep you sharp and snappy. Keep the PVP world the wild west..

I also would like to see SBMM return for Crucible. I have done a lot worse since the change a few seasons ago. I enjoy Crucible less and therefore play it less. I have played Survival more often, but it is just not as fun. I have not noticed decreased queue times since CBMM was implemented in quickplay. If anything, I have noticed increased queue waits at times. I still play Iron Banner, but again I don't enjoy it as much as I used to. Too many mercies. I now seem to drop out of more matches than I complete in that play mode. For the rest of this season Bungie should implement a SBMM Control mode side-by-side with a CBMM Control mode and see which one players like more. I would be curious to see the results.

Yes, you should stop playing. Millions already have and weekly numbers continue to drop. No one should play a game of the developer doesn’t care enough to address issues.

I feel your pain. I am 51 years old and play on PC. I have neuropathy in my hands now so I am forced to use a controller or not play the game at all. I get tired of the GG. Their is no getting good, just worse for me. I still love to play. Its painful, even difficult at times but it still brings me joy. I go match after match with KD's .5 and lower. Its can be very frustrating. I really do feel like there is a better way. I rarely play PVP anymore and its sad. PVP used to be my go to game mode. My mother in law who loves this game as much as anyone cant play PVP at all anymore. She is 74 years old and would play PVP with us for hours before they made the change away from SBMM. I miss playing with her. Nothing funnier then GREAT GRANDMA tea bagging someone who tea bagged her.

It will be back at some point. Wouldnt shock me if it comes back with cross-play.

The average elo per team, that I could see, were 1300-1200 which is pretty close to yours. There was one game where the teams were like 2100 elo average vs 1300 elo average, and you were on the higher team's side. You're whining for the sake of whining because you did bad a few games but refuse to accept that you're the problem. You aren't loading into full teams of flawless and unbroken players. You're loading against people with largely gold silver and bronze elo scores, with maybe one or two diamonds, but because you're in that lower bracket there are more players "better" than you than there are worse.

2 RepliesDoesn't make a difference if it's CBMM or SBMM with how bad Bungies team balancing algorithm is.

I checked your last 20 matches- most of your matches you versed people at or below your overall skill level. In a couple matches there was always 1 flawless dude or at least 1 unbroken. Maybe .... learn to get better and counter. Some of those flawless dudes have sub 1.0 kds overall.... meaning they suck. Sbmm was terrible for casual mode- so no.
