I just got Hawkmoon a week ago, and i forgot to put out a real review out for the community. I don't like hawkmoon because of the perk. It sounds good on paper, but in reality, its kinda bad. Not decent and it still slays in pVp. but people are sleeping on this gun now. For PVE, its really inconsistent, you need to make your shots count. and its hard to do that on enemies that teleport often, (fallen, taken, vex) like common bungo, ace of spades beats the hawkmoon because memento mori hits really hard. do i also have to mention THAT FIREFLY IS ON THIS GUN? thorn also beats hawk because of its perk, mark of the devour, where the weapon fires projectiles that penetrates the enemy, AND prevents health regeneration, and soul of the devour comes into play, if you absorb an orb after you got a kill, it increases the damage of the gun AND if you get more kills it extends the duration. also thorn can take out shielded enimes in pve so why use an energy weapon if you can use thorn, it also penetrates taken blights. i may start be running thorn when in in a pve activity. kinetics do a 10% damage increase than energies red death 2.0 also kinda beats hawkmoon because health regen, and its a pulse rifle combined with a hand cannon the harbinger mission that rewards the catalyst also sounds good on paper, increased magazine and buff to weapon stats, but its a joke. the magazine size doesnt change up a lot, but random rolls are nice though, and its a unique gun. the cap for the main perk is x6 but i tried EVERYTHING i could to bypass it. its also so easy to loose the final bonus, i mean yeah to balance pvp but its still just making it WORSE. so yeah i stored this weapon in my vault and its better in d1 than d2 but its a unique weapon.
