•
I feel like your suggestions will result in even less people being willing to play trials...
I’m curious why you’d think that. Is it more of a personal feeling or an actual statistical reason?

  • Personal feeling. Your suggestion doesnt solve the root cause of why cheating and recovs exists. On top of that penalizing people for going AFK or jumping off the map doesnt address why people dont enjoy the mode enough to the point where they would literally rather kill themselves (in game) than play.

Cheating & recovs don’t have a singular reason. Both stem from their own individual interests, but none of them are justifiable.

  • I never said they had a justified reason... I'm saying there is a root cause that hasn't been addressed, which means even with your suggestion the behavior itself will still continue. IMO Aztecross was right in his point about how this latest issue of win trading with Trials should highlight the state of the game mode to devs. There is no way at this point to create rewards for the best players without creating a market for exploitation. Cheating and recovs are rampant due to it being profitable. Players are AFK farming and jumping of ledges due to the experience being so unenjoyable for them they only care about checking off requirements for the weekly reward.

  • they ARE working on it, simply because you didn't see the person getting banned yourself doesn't mean that they aren't working on the issue. Cheating will soon not be profitable once the lawsuit goes through.

  • They've had years to figure this out and have failed to do so up to this point.... if anything the problem has gotten worse. If there is enough demand for something this community will figure out a way to make it happen. The lawsuit stopped the known cheat companies, whose to say more dont spring up to replace them. Hell whose to say these companies dont just change their name and start over again.

  • Majority of the cheats (on pc) are streamed these days due to the fact Streamed cheats are both harder to detect and all the code isn't on the computer itself. This causes an issue because people, like you and me, can't get these cheats, send it to bungie, and have them Reverse engineer to find the holes. They are and already are doing something. Just cause you don't "FEEL" like they're doing anything, doesn't mean they're not. I am 100% sure that the Defendant will force them to give the code over to Bungie so they can fix the hole, which is why this issue is scares a lot of cheaters.

  • Once again cheating in trials isn't new... it isn't a I feel like they aren't doing anything the years they've allowed this problem to grow shows they haven't done anything. Bungie has always been reactionary in their approach to issues and as a result they've been behind in dealing with this. Even if they are able to get the code to find out how these cheats work whose to say someone else doesnt find a different way to cheat... As long as there is a market for flawless runs someone is going to try and take advantage of it whether its cheats, recovs, etc... The problem isn't going anywhere, especially given how Bungie is reactionary in how they deal with problems.
