Drop chances for Nightfall Weapons needs to seriously be increased.
On the Hero Nightfall difficulty, Nightfall weapons are listed as Uncommon along with Exotic Gear, meanwhile Enhancement Cores are Common and Enhancement Prisms are Rare. In this week alone, with all of the Nightfalls I have run, I have gotten well over a dozen Enhancement Prisms, and not a single weapon.
I'm not sure if it's a bug in the code or some other issue, but something needs to change if the Rare reward is much more common than an Uncommon reward.

It's wildly inconsistent. I try to run NF as much as I can when Shadowprice comes up bc I really want one. Yet, the only NF I've been able to get a weapon drop (The Swarm) on is 'The Corrupted' and that was after I'd ran it on Legend about 10 times. Didn't even Platinum. Haven't gotten a weapon since. And it's harder to reach higher scores with matchmaking bc you don't know if the other fireteam members are geared out properly or just flying by the seat of their pants. I feel Bungie needs to explain/clarify some of these game mechanics for people who don't know. I see the hardcore players talk about them, but official info from Bungie would go a lot further. Also, they should probably implement a cumulative % chance to get a weapon drop with each run on Hero and Legend. Like 3% and 6%, until you get a drop, then it resets, but make it reset each day so you cant rack up a higher % chance and then save it until the next NF. Hell, I'd even take a crappy roll.

Only 1 run was not platinum. 7 exotic drops (14% drop rate) 5 nightfall weapon drops (10% drop rate) 1 hung jury with bad rolls (2% drop rate) 9 hrs… of grinding the same damn thing…. …. I’ve gotten more exotics and “rare” materials than a purple uncommon scout rifle… Bungie, fix the stupid drop rate.

1 ReplySince the weekly rotation of July 27, i've done the Hero Nightfall exactly 45 times and have only gotten 2 Swarms, 3 Shadow Prices, and 3 palindromes with only one decent roll of each weapon and I've gotten around 150 enhancement cores, and 46 enhancement prisms. Got a lot of materials but absolute garbage in weapons yet the weapons are stated as uncommon whilst the prisms are rare. Doesn't make sense.

Completely agree - I think this might be bugged similar to the eyes of tomorrow issue in DSC. I've been running Hero (1280) for hung jury this week - 02/07/2021. I've now completed close to 30 runs across 3 characters, nearly all of these have been platinum clears - all champions defeated. I've only had one drop the entire time and it was a trash roll. I've tweeted dmg directly but this does need looking at asap, either add matchmaking to legend (1310) or up the drop rate. I don't mind a grind to 'earn' the weapon but this is ridiculous.

I have so many hero nightfalls this season and gotten 1 weapon drop, these drop rates are pathetic, bungie should seriously look into rng protection.

I'm pretty late to comment on this subject, I have been playing Nightfall mainly on Hero cause I am not gonna stress myself but still enjoy the challenge. It's sucks how low the drop chance is it's not even consider uncommon just rare by past plays I've gone through, Bungie literally insults our patience with other items. I can still deal with Warframe's drop rate with Prime at least there's a function to role more than one chance as a team. But this...Bungie expects too much, but I feel ya on it.

3 RepliesRNG will always suck...and it sounds like it hasn't been kind to you. In season 13, I didn't run any difficulty other than Hero and I probably got 10 of each weapon. Sometimes I'd get a drop from two Nightfalls in a row. Other times, I wouldn't get a drop for 5 Nightfalls. Gotta love consistency between player results. Unless my RNG luck was just terrible this past week, I feel like Nightfall weapon drops were reduced in Season 14. I ran through The Glassway on Hero difficulty probably 25 times. 0 drops. Hard to believe when compared to my Season 13 results.

Just ran the 1300 ten times. No weapons, 3 prisms. That's all I got.

I agree, I wish it was increased just by a few percent, but at least it isn't as bad as the Gambit ones. Those have like 12+ perks in slot 1 and 2, and despite all the time I've spend playing Gambit I've never once obtained a Bottom Dollar.

1300 with a team and platinum will get you there.

I've gotten three copies of a masterwork 6 gun that is from I don't know how many seasons ago. I forget the name... it drops at 1100 and maxes out at like 1040. What the hell, Bungie? Who needs a drop like that, in 2021?

The lower you do the lower chance you have. I did to 1330s and got 4 shadow prices.

I got my, nearly god roll (on my hunter), swarm on my third NF of the week, hero difficulty and when I loaded into the strike I was immediately put into a joining allies state and before it counted down the other people killed the boss and all I saw was the gun pop on the right. All this to say RNG sucks sh*t. As far as the exotic numbers go I was running the palindrome week and went on a steak of 5 straight strikes getting 6 exotics. I got three palindromes that week but have no idea how many runs I made the entire week. There is something bungie is not telling us!

Took about 8 hours of nonstop hero nightfalls....to get 1 swarm.

If you do it on 1330 the drop chance is decently common. I did 6 x 1330 NFs and have 3 swarms so one every 2 nightfalls.

1 ReplyI’m pretty sure for hero it is either 5 or 10% drop rate. I dork think it’s worth going for nightfall weapons in hero or adept difficulty. If you can do hero, it is likely that you have enough power to do a legend, which has a much higher chance
