Steam version freezes and crashes constantly after updating Nvidia drivers

I use a laptop with an RTX 2060 and an i7 9750H. I have had consistent 60 fps without any problems, but after updating to Nvidia's newest drivers yesterday, Destiny 2 keeps freezing at random intervals (mostly when loading into areas) and crashing (loading into some Battlegrounds, or walking around Hallows). I haven't had a single performance issue before, it would be great to know what's going on

  • Both AMD and NVIDIA drivers don't care about destiny2 any more.... It's been a niche game with small minority..... What a pity

  • Try rolling back the drivers on your graphics card to the previous version. I had the same issue and this has worked for me.

    • Same here I go to the Titian guy in the first area and after scene crash - no error message - first time playing. Loved it but now not able to load in and finish area. Would be nice to get some feed back on this - even a "we are working on this issue" would be nice.

But yep the new Nvidia drivers dont play well with Destiny 2

    • You're not the only one. I haven't been able to play since the latest weekly reset. I keep freezing(Game is still running for 1-2 minutes, mind you. But the video freezes), for a couple minutes, then it locks up and I get that "Verify file integrity" error message pop-up. I've tried everything I could on my end, and nothing changes this. • Same here. I make use of GeForce NOW, so I'm not sure what the exact specs of the machine I'm running the game on are. What I can tell you however is that the freezing happens at very particular moments. Before the last patch, the game would always freeze when loading into the Hellmouth on the moon in Patrol. Now, the game always freezes when going to the Hallows on Nessus while in Patrol.

Having exactly the same issue, cant load into any area or activity, screen just goes black and game closes. Tried disabling shader cache and same thing happens.
