Haven’t we already been through this? Didn’t you already get overwhelming feedback from the community that making heavy kills a requirement was not favored? If you would have play tested this at all, even the first time that you implemented it, you would’ve known how absolutely toxic and unenjoyable it would be. Let’s not not look back, let’s talk about now, you had the knowledge that we hated it, yet you add it back anyway, despite its negative impact on the game.
I’m not gonna walk through every reason as to why it’s horrible and unenjoyable. What I want to know is however, in light of the fact that you knew it would not be enjoyable for the community, why exactly did you add it back? Knowing that it would be bad, Is it your intention to create bad experiences as a method of creating a “peaks and valleys” dynamic? This problem should fixed As quickly as an emote that would break trials, or an exploit that allowed players to get bright dust.

62 RepliesYea I know there has been a lot of feedback around this and I'll bring it back up with the team. Thanks for posting.

I enjoyed it very much

1 ReplyBungie has made it auto complete.

1 ReplyIts not difficult. Lol

They should give you the option between heavy and shotgun kills. Imagine how many people would choose shotgun kills over heavy ammo. Lol
-
They just auto completed it again for you guys . Bungie just posted about it .
-
Haha, I just posted this too and took a 15 min break. I started a match and instantly the step was completed for me

1 Reply3 would have been eh maybe ok but as is, it ruins IB. Having to fight 11 players for heavy causes players to have to neglect objectives like zones and winning.
-
Yep thick as pig shit. Same mistakes over and over.

for the first time in a while i was having fun in crucible (just goin all yeehaw with Dead Man) but then the quest steps started telling me to camp heavy and use these weapons not those weapons and the fun left the very first match that happened. it really sucks.

1 ReplyI use to really like IB until D2 came along and changed everything about it. Making it a chore rather than a game mode that is fun. I haven't played in a little while, but is power level advantage still a thing?

It sucks getting heavy. Honestly, I never go for heavy because it's just an invitation to get killed. You can't even pick it up while being shot. D1 system was better. You could grab it while being shot, duck behind cover, and come out blasting. All this does is create a point for getting easy kills. Especially with stasis being so broken.

1 ReplyYep, it sucks balls. I can’t get anywhere near the heavy, and when I do I get clapped by the whole enemy team. Basically given up on it.

20 RepliesThat step was fine. Was easy, and done in three matches. I personally had more trouble securing SMG kills in a shotgun ape meta.

Edited by dead fighter 3: 2/26/2021 4:57:03 PMIts annoying but not impossible, sadly you got to focus on soley the heavy that game rather than Obj. Its also suprisingly easy with a sword since most players tend to blind run in with shotty or something. I can see your perspective from the stance of actually playing the mode rather than just playing for Heavy, but it could be worse. Iron Banner could not have a freelance option and you could be getting clapped by 6 mans all day. Plus is it really even worth the quest? Wow ANOTHER Emblem. So special. I know you get weapon drops but honestly I've been pretty all set with the wild drops. I got the SMG for example with Dynamic Sway, Iron Grip, and a Stability Tier. On a 900 rpm that's pretty darn good. But heavy step could be worse could be the 25 or 50 heavy kills or worse the.. what was it 250 or 500? final blows that you had to get by yourself when the Iron banner quest first came out several seasons ago.

Honestly I would be perfectly fine if the reward from this was some new heavy weapon. Since the reward is 2 kinetic primaries, you should have to get kinetic weapon kills, or like scout and smg kills instead.

I played through this quest on one character and I qualify as a terrible player - part in part because of degraded skills (I'm an old guy) and part because of what I would deem as poor matchmaking/mercy matches. Others have said this and it is true, camping heavy by either those that need it to complete the quest or others that take advantage of players going for heavy to get easy kills... completely disrupts the intent of the game itself, the game is Control, not camp for heavy. That said; that isn't my complaint... Pinnacle award wise I pull 1304's - the reward for all that grinding in the quest? A 1300 capped piece of crappy gear (value was 53), not good. I pull 1302's from in game engrams, the IB quest reward is just plain wrong for anyone investing the time and aggravation to complete that quest. Lastly, while I like 1304's from IB - they were 60% primary, 30% secondary and 10% power weapons - 0% armor, which is what D2 is weighted heavily to use for increasing your light with. So aside from the crappy quest reward, the balance of loot from IB is also very disappointing for me. I hope that other players got some armor, but it seems like something can be done (from my perspective) with the algorithms to improve rewards based on equal distribution and not solely on weapons.

Im sure you saw the generic post below. Translation, we will make a change in 2023!

17 RepliesAll the bad players crying about the heavy step

I usually finish all of my bounties before I can get 10 power weapon kills. I'm currently at 0/10 with only two or three matches left until my bounties are done on my warlock. and then I'll still have 3 steps after that. If it was 3 power kills, maybe it wouldn't be so bad.

How many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man?!

14 RepliesYou have a whole season to do this, and 10 kills is nothing with the current heavy weapons.
