I have grinded trials all week on this miniscule map with the most sweaty players you could possibly imagine. Yet still every time I get to 5-6 wins its LITERALLY top 500 players every time. I'm not even a negative kd player. I would consider myself above average but not incredible, yet I get matched with the best of the best? What do I do? Do I just have to get lucky to even have a chance at the flawless loot? Forget about rng drops like the ship or sparrow, the lighthouse is being gatekept by only the top 1%. The only people who go flawless go multiple if not DOZENS of time a week. Can someone please explain why I'm personally getting bullied by the matchmaking and being prevented from getting the best weapons in the game?
Edit: They addressed matchmaking and gatekeeping problems in trials in the latest twab. The problems still stand for now but if they get fixed, then thank you bungie.

Edited by Ray: 2/28/2021 12:29:49 AMI can’t even get to 5 or 6 wins. Good on you bro, you’ll get that flawless.

The player pool is shallow, and the good players, make the top even shallower. You are going to keep running into the same people.
-
1 Replyits because they are the only people who play trials these days
-
Until they fix the match making pool it’s going to be a problem. They need CBMM and loot in trials so everyone has a fair chance at flawless. (D1 was CBMM with very loose skill brackets keeping the bottom of the bottom from top 500s.) I can only run stacked for my weekly flawless and it’s annoying because I’d like to do carries with my girlfriend but that strong third is essential right now.
-
4 RepliesHonestly the only way to go flawless is paying or going on tWiTcH StrEaMers streams and entering the raffles for carrying... other than that you stuck with token farmers and overly sweaty players who dont go outside and people doing carries.
-
Dude, only like 20k people play the game mode per day because it sucks; you're going to match the same people, no matter who you are. I once matched the same team three times lol.
-
10 RepliesOnly solution is to just play super dirty and sweaty, without cheating of course. Only way to the lighthouse is to fight fire with fire it’s always been this way since house of wolves way back in May 2015

6 RepliesI had a similar experience but only in one match. We matched a team that was one guy who was clearly talented, and two players whose loadouts made it look like they were being carried. Sure enough that one guy was a top 0.1% player with 3200 ELO. And those two "carries" he had? Played on the same level as him. Destiny Tracker said they were keeping up with him for the entire weekend. Blatant recoveries. Some of the most annoying BS I swear. Recovs shouldn't be a thing at all.

Sounds like you're just unlucky. It happens. Was your whole fireteam on the new gen console?
-
Every pvp mode its like that, matching casuals against 300x flawless sweaties. No wonder the game is losing players. Add a freelance mode with sbmm.
-
Lol get good

17 RepliesI agree! And while we are at it the NBA should let me play too so I can get a Porshe!! I been shooting hoops all week and still no contract. This is *insert millennial talking point here*

2 RepliesThere’s 500 people playing trials?!
-
37 RepliesLighthouse is, was and likely always will be for the top of the playerbase, since the modes original inception So why would, (as you called yourself) an above average player be making it there with any regularity? When you're up to 6 wins you will be facing others at 6 wins - likely high to top tier players, how is that unexpected
-
The problem his host depends on your location. But more than likely there will be a top 500 player on your card. And they will run stacked because they can. Bungie has yet fixed pvp which is hurting. Not to mention I think account recovs should be banned
-
The Trials population has effectively cannibalized itself to the point where only the elite (and the cheaters) can make it to the top. Bungie's Crucible team was so preoccupied asking how sweaty they could make Trials, they never stopped to ask how rewarding they should make Trials...

And you can have a Duskfield, and you can have a Duskfield, and you can have a Duskfield. Duskfields for all! But seriously tho, this map is trash
-
Nobody playing trials. The whole mode needs a rework.

Bullied by the MM system, is this a thing? The higher your wins in your card the more likely to face better players, its normal, is it fair, well depends, I think so since it was that bungie intended, do I like it, well I dont play it, but If I was really into going to the LH for the challenge of it I wouldnt like bungie to remove the better players, I would like to face them all, so if I do it it will feel like I have accomplished something. Also, with the exception of the last game you played against a really top tier player, the rest of those players are pretty much in your same situation, just look at the games history and you will see a very similar pattern to yours, few greens and a red, this repeats over and over, this means this players you lost against lost shortly after or had been losing as well. If you keep trying one day you will eventually get through, Its just not easy I understand, keep going

1 ReplySo are accounts allowed to go flawless and get adept loot an unlimited amount of times? That seams like a bad idea. It should be like all the other loot in this game. You can loot the chest one time. Maybe give them 2 tokens...maybe
-
7 RepliesIt’s the hand cannon this week. People are sweating balls for them flawless games and it’s real out there. The trenches. It’s almost over though lol

3 Repliesthe reason behinde this is actuly verry simple, trials is a self canibalizing systrem. win base card mods with loot behind them works like this.first weekend 100.000 player ( numbers are not real ) of these 100k 20k notis they will never get the loot and drop out 4 weekend into the future there are ponly 20k ppl playing this game mode divide this by 3 console this wil arvg you up with 6.3k players avrg in this game type. divide this true 4 time zone game is played in will leave you with 1,5k players divide these numbers true a card base win system, this wil mean that about 60% of the players end up on the low end of the card ( not skill included ) because everybody is skilled at this point the other 80k players who where not skilled droped out before this weekend. this leave the other 40% of the player base over win 4/7 on the card lets say a nother 30 % of the players lose on 4/6 on the card now you have 10% of the 20K players that still play this game mode end up at the last last game divided during your time periode at 7 wins game this will indeed put you up agaisnt the top 500. on top of this the bugg where new gen console will only face new gen this will make you play the top 250 at least because every dedicated player has a new gen. hope this explains what youre emotions are feeling.

2 RepliesEdited by Azure Flame: 2/23/2021 8:12:05 AMAgreed. It was horribly apparent this weekend especially. I played over 150 games of trials this weekend to get the new weapons. Know how many times I got to 5 wins? 0, nil, zilch, nada. I kept getting gatekeeped at 4 wins absolutely stonewalling me from even getting the sword. Now while I'm okay with fair competition since it is at the mid way point of a card; I'm NOT okay with getting pub stomped for 4 matches in a row locking my card and having to reset just to pray the first match on the new card isn't 2.0+kd teams or recovs. I'm not the only one with this experience either. Others, including streamers and YouTubers, are in the same consensus of the state of trials as is now. Something needs to change with this mode drastically or this cycle will continue.
