Like legit it's so annoying dealing with crutches every match and thinking "can't wait till that's nerfed, crucible would be so much better." Every godamm season, is it hard to ask for just one balanced season, where there isn't an ultimate meta and all weapons are viable,
-120 HC's shouldn't dominate nearly as well as they do, as they compete with actual scout rifles at almost all ranges and make team shotting obnoxiously annoying, and also shouldn't ever roll with damage perks.
-Arbelist is still a huge issue as it's bullet magnetism is insane and allows for essentially no effort kills,
-behemouth titan literally has faster animations this season and is the best super, more overpowered then any super in the game, and the fact that their resilience stacks with resist from the new fragments even makes it more tankier, it Essentially counters every super in the game.
-hunters shouldn't have reduced damage while shatter diving and should have even a cooldown on it so it isn't spammed,
-Hunter shuriken with durance shouldn't work in PvP, being slowed for such amount of time your already dead, and this promotes relying on ability spam.
All of these issues desperately need to be reworked and looked at.
Though I like that I'm seeing less aggressive shotguns that are new not roll with Quickdraw in perk pools, but can it be agreed that scavenger perks shouldn't work in crucible so people don't have the option to literally main a special the entire match?
*And not that the validity of this feedback is better from this, but this is coming from a trials player and someone who mostly mains PvP and occasionally goes to PvE just to stay highest current light for end game activities, it's just frustrating to wait for every season for all the dominant things to get toned down, hoping for a balanced game only for more insanely dominant things to take its place the next season and for the cycle to continue for the new things to get toned down.
**And no you aren't a bad player if you use 120's, and felwinters, it just makes sense to abuse what's most effective, but 120's definitely need a rework, yes they should feel good, and be effective, but their ease of use beats out almost everything and that's an issue.

6 RepliesBungie and devs create metas on purpose to promote game play. Its not an accident that the best current gun in the game is hidden behind trials and only the top 2-3% can get it. While the only competitor is locked behind a dying game mode no wants to play and has horrible drop rates. All about keeping people playing and creating play time.

Edited by an Ape with a d2 addiction: 2/22/2021 11:58:29 AMEvery godamm season, is it hard to ask for just one balanced season, where there isn't an ultimate meta and all weapons are viable This is the problem. That you do this. This is a you problem. Personally I've played pvp actively since early 2019 and I used to think like this for literally years. Then you realise just like you said, it's something every season. Old imbalances occasionally go and new ones pop up every time. The only correct answer is to stop expecting it to be anything else. It won't be. Never. There's already a 3 year track record proving it. Use what is strong at the moment and abandon hopes for sandbox balance. When the balance tilts somewhere else, start using whatever becomes strong instead. D2 has is and will always be a game of imbalanced crutches. Embrace it instead of minding it. Or use the weaker options and accept the voluntary handicap while hoping the balance pendulum'll swing your way one day. That too is an option. Just the fact that bungo does not have the ability and/or will to make a balanced sandbox.
Constructive feedback is good of course. But cull your expectations. Almost all of them will not happen. Your time's too valuable to spend mulling over d2 sandbox balancing as that'll never be a proper thing.
Edited by Veldrin: 2/22/2021 8:04:32 PMIt's intended. If something is overpowerd, the people grind the hell out of it to get that specific item and use it until it's nerfed and then a new overpowered item/ability/armor/whatever get released and the cycle repeats. It makes people grind. This is not a competitive shooter. Balance is NOT the priority. The loot grind cycle / hamsterwheel is the priroty. That's why sunsetting is exist instead of propper balancing. I don't say I think Bungie is doing it right, but you clearly are wrong if you think this is a competitive game whose focus is balancing, because that's not the case. Bungie even admitted it, they want to curate the META that domniates PVE and PVP, they introduced sunsetting even as a reason to do this. Balance is NOT their priority. They said that themselves.

3 RepliesEdited by sonicBOOM5431: 2/21/2021 8:31:00 PMBungie has already admitted that they're goal in d2 crucible is not to achieve balance. They deadass said that they want to create metas where different things dominate at different times. That might be the stupidest thing I've ever heard any company ever say working on pvp. And as long as that happens, your sentiment will never change. I feel the same way. That's what frustrates me as a player because I love d2 pvp but I can't take it seriously because it will quite literally never be balanced

3 RepliesI like how you complain about arbalest when beloved had way more AA. 78 possible aim assist with targeting adjuster, no helm mod needed(85 AA with enhanced SR targeting)! Arbalest sitting at 61. And people thought they were god tier for having the games aim bot light do all the heavy lifting for them.
-
My younger bro actually tried to defend Arbalest and say it's just like a sniper rifle. Whilst Sniper rifles can hit hard at long ranges (especially if you land the headshot), the Arbalest's bullet bloom is so minimal, it never misses at all and will always land straight into your cranium The Behemoth titan, tho it is very op in terms of its resilience and mad speed, shouldn't get nerfed solely. I think there should be a Stasis Sandbox update that will hopefully make Stasis abilities & supers a more unique but not so overwhelmingly powerful position in our arsenal for D2 anymore. Finally, 120 hc's should not receive damage perks and that they should be tubed back so that you can compete with a scout rifle but not at scout rifle range in a consistent manner and that both individuals in the engagement can kill the other & walk away
-
2 RepliesBehemoth needs a nerf to damage reduction. I hit one with a rocket launcher and only took off his over shield and a chip of health

I tend to stray away from Meta and I do fine. I do get annoyed when I sometimes lose a fight to someone using a Meta weapon but idrc, I just move on and kick more ass. However, Bungie did say they want to create Meta’s each season. Again, this doesn’t really effect me, I consider myself a slightly above average player. I like testing new and unique builds such as using Bakris with Rat King.
It slaps.
Also Chaos Reach is an amazing Warlock super. Might experiment with a Nova Warp build before that gets sunset.
-
The goal is not balance They've been talking about seasonal meta's since old interviews with the DCP during D1
-
Range nerf needed on the hand cannon in general. Titan super is just out of control in length and shielding. Slow time and pull need reduced and any freeze that does not instakill, needs to go. D2s pvp appeal is its pace...quit with the flipping "freeze". It's killing the experience bungie!
-
1 ReplyAgreed, stasis as a whole is arguably the most annoying aspect of a game ive ever had to deal with. Arbelist is somthing i actually dont come across much (dont play alot of pvp now a days) but yes it truly needs dealing with.... 120 hand cannon's haunt me full stop....as much as i understand the need to make changes to weapons and re arrange stats or whatever it is that bungie does to the sandbox ever season...when it results in a "one size fits all" kind of weapon then it fundamentally ruins eveything...in my opinion #boycottthemeta

At least you can play and get flawless in trials. That’s an achievement on itself. I gave up on that playlist when it came out and have never played a single game, knowing I wouldn’t get anything reguardless of how hard I try.
-
5 Repliesdon't forget the fellwinters you use
-
2 RepliesBecause every weapon and archetype and power aren't created with equality in mind. Otherwise we'd all be stuck playing with a general loadout. While that can work in games like halo, I don't think it fits in destiny. So we have to endure meta after meta. They should be able to adjust things on the fly as they promised though. Just a few hours in pvp right now and they could see how broken and absurd some things are. Instead they wait forever unless it's something they need to nerf on a hunter.
is it hard to ask for just one balanced season, where there isn't an ultimate meta and all weapons are viable
Duh?
-
6 RepliesRemember the Season of Lord of Wolves? And the Season of Prometheus Lens? And Season of the Recluse + Mountaintop?
-
120s only hurt so bad because the majority of the maps were designed for the 4v4 garbage year one meta and now that is gone bungie never made bigger maps or adjustments to the old one the maps arnt big enough to punish range dropoff
-
1 Replyyou forgot to mention the frozen durations. in pvp split seconds make all the difference, getting frozen for 2s and then waiting for the animation to activate and waiting for the animation to play out and then waiting to return to first person so you can line up shots--- its all a big death sentence. if you somehow survive being frozen the other player should quit the game. from the moment you're frozen you should be able to activate the breaking out animation, on the first button press. no delays. you should only be taken out of the fight for 1.5 sec max.

1 ReplyCurrently the state is so bad that we need baby steps. Seriously Charged With Light needs to be removed, they don't have Warmind Cells so why is CWL a thing? Only that and I would be content for a long while.
-
2 RepliesWasn’t sunsetting supposed to buff us or negate the constant need for nerfs or something?
-
5 RepliesAlways so funny when people cry about arbalest and how it's "so OP" when the literal stats don't match up to what they're saying. But then go about defending hand cannons even though they are more overused and OP than autos were last season.
-
10 RepliesDidnt even read your past and i already agree with your title. Im tired of getting shotgunned, autorifled, and frozen by everything thats not a titan.
-
1 ReplySee I have an entirely different problem. I go into every game asking why the hell my teammates are so bad in solo queue comp. I literally get out against 3 mid to high level players and am paired with 2 people in which my total kills are better than theirs combined. It takes me ages to hit legend because I can’t have competent teammates. Same thing happens in quick play
-
6 RepliesBecause that is how the crucible community works. The majority will use what ever is currently broken and will simply jump to the next broken when it gets nerfed.
-
3 RepliesEdited by Oinkthebaconking: 2/21/2021 5:30:51 PMArbalest is definitely an issue. It headshots even while being smacked with high caliber and it's a terribly boring gun so it isn't even fun to use unless you just need an op crutch. However, there are never enough nerfs for people like you. In Y1 you likely cried for a nerf to Uriel's Gift. The only actual, practical solution is sbmm. When sbmm exists crucible is fun for me because I run whatever I like. Without sbmm it's either an OP loadout or be frustrated.
