Agreed. The nerf to swords took this situation from tedious-but-manageable, utterly broken and unplayable. This is why I dislike this form of difficulty so intensely. Under the best of conditions, it severely limits player options. But when it’s done carelessly, it breaks the game completely.

  • Yea I prefer either weapons to offer a certain level of overpowered feeling or builds to be used to counter difficulty and some champion design just forces you into using specific stuff and it’s not because it’s good, but because it’s required. Builds seems to be something they would rather avoid being required to beat content as far as specific weapons and armor goes, which is fair. I think they just need to look at heavies as a whole and bring most of them up a bit. When you compare the damage output of all the various heavies compared to the amount of ammo they have it just makes swords that much better because their damage per swing is really only around 1/3 of the per shot damage of most other heavies that only get around 10 shots. That’s not to say swords need a nerf but that heavies need to have more reserves or more damage and preferably more damage because most heavies right now actually do less than a precision frame shotgun crit. At least for me since I main a warlock I can just use rift to kill massive stacks of enemies with no issue so I would prefer having some higher single target options. Stuff like linear fusions and snipers underperform with the effort of use required.

  • They need to look at both heavies and supers. Swords are over used because they are the only legendary heavy s in the game that don’t SUCK. Grenades are good at sunstained damage, but the problem is that Bungie is squeezing us into smaller and smaller windows of damage to keep us from burning down their bosses. So the situations where grenade launchers are efficient are getting fewer and fewer. Rockets are doing good damage but are still crippled by their slow reload time and the fact many enemies can simply dodge them or teleport and break tracking. The real problem is that, for warlocks, many of our supers (because of pvp) are so badly underpowered that swords actually outperform out supers. That’s what was so pathetic about this dumpster run. As poorly as the sword did, Stormtrance actually DID WORSE. Much worse.
