Stop making PvP kills a quest requirement.
PvE players know PvP is a joke. That's why we don't play it. So, stop forcing us to play it for quests. Trying to kill people with a bow, while they're melting and flinching me with any other weapon is literally the least fun thing in this game.

18 RepliesAccording to Warmind and Steam data there’s approximately 122,000 players total playing D2 right now, roughly evenly split between PC and PS at 35% of the player base each with the remaining 30% population playing on Xbox and Stadia. Of everyone playing D2, roughly 14% are currently playing crucible - which indicates a lobby of between 5-6 thousand players each in PC, PS, and Xbox. Further divide that 5-6 thousand by region and Crucible game mode, and we’re likely looking at no more than a few hundred people playing each game mode at a time on average on each platform. Further divide PS and Xbox between next gen and last gen lobbies and the lobbies get even smaller - assuming you believe that there’s a matchmaking preference for next gen lobbies. Let that sink in. Crucible overall is in a really bad place. It’s frequently not competitive due to overreliance on Control as a game mode, and not a place for casual players at all. With average lobbies in the hundreds for each activity - there’s no wonder why Bungie isn’t implementing SBMM. They can’t and it wouldn’t matter anyway except to degrade an already crappy experience.

Wait what your doing a quest? But I thought Variks had brought unsettling news. The Devil Splicers have used SIVA to resurrect an old foe. Taniks the Scarred has become Taniks Perfected. [Ikora Rey:] Taniks’s crew has joined the Splicers. They’re using SIVA to reanimate his body and overtake his territory. Lord Saladin says you were indispensable in Old Russia, Guardian. We thought you should be the one to handle this.

The PvP in this game is hands down the absolute worst I've ever encountered in a mmo, and the game is PVE centric. My revulsion to having to play this awful mode of the game makes me never want to play it. Change the PvP portion. Open it up to PVE content like you've done with other quests. I shouldn't feel sick playing content I have no interest in or ever want to do. STOP. DOING. THIS! Update, whoever's out there saying tagged assists count; they don't. Five mayhem runs and I got TWO WHOLE KILLS! Direct kills aren't registering even.

3 RepliesI really really hate to be that guy... ...But the bow is kinda stupid good and getting kills shouldn't take long even for a PvE player. There's way more PvE stuff we PvPers gotta do to add to our kit and we don't stress it. Yes PvP is 'harder', humans instead of AI, but with a lil practice and mindfulness you'll clear out those kills.

4 RepliesI'm a PvP player who doesn't like to play PvP anymore ... this game is so disappointing, I tried to switch to PvE but that content is so boring and lazy that I didn't even finish last season's campaign lol. And this season is more of the same, same planets, same enemy races, same meaningless shit; bounties and public events, yippee!

Those people either quit and moved on, or were forced out. Bungie cares more about their company photo, than they do about the quality of their product.

But I'm not a good PvPer, and I'm not using my grenades or Super in a way that would help my team; in fact, not using Super at all. Just doing everything to get the 13 kills I need. I've been a complete dead weight to every team I've been on. Most games ended in a Mercy. Even the one I played whilst typing this out (I type between matches, and stop typing whilst I play), where we were 6v5 for half of it, we went from a ~50pt lead to winning by ~20pts. I've been killed by Felwinter's, several different legendary hand cannons, 7th Seraph CQC-12s, all manner of Stasis abilities, and even a Messenger. I haven't had a KD above 0.4, or captured more than 3 zones in any match. So for the ~hour I've been doing this, not only have I had little fun, but I've been reducing the fun of the poor sods matchmade with me. And the one thing I can be certain of is that I am not alone. I've seen at least 2 others doing this or a variant of it (Stasis Hunter instead of Stasis Warlock etc). So the already shaky mode that is Crucible is now filled with primarily-PvE players quasi-trolling just to get this quest step done. The ONLY people having fun right now are the sweats who get off on absolutely dominating their enemies. Anyone who just jumps into PvP for bounties (and that includes me usually) or a fun casual match is having less fun due to feeder blueberries (including me currently) single-mindedly kill-hunting with a sub-par weapon (it could be an ok weapon if you could use it properly, but that doesn't progress the quest for some reason). Good job Bungle; you've made PvP 'trolls' more common.....

WOW. It's funny to see people commenting, "PvE shouldn't be required"... on a game that literally has loads of lore and characters and is story driven LOL. PvP shouldn't be forced on someone who doesn't like it or want to play because sweats ruin it for every other normal person. The only PvP I like is Mayhem, and it's because it is quick and I like that everyone can use their supers many times, but that's really it. Showdown was atrocious today for me, and I dislike Control. I wish that there could be a PvE route and a PvP route for the same/equal thing, because that would help. But so much Gambit and PvP is forced, and that's what's making this season for me complete sh*t.

4 RepliesI don't know why Bungo has an issue with providing different paths to complete quests. Let the PvP players take the PvP route and let the PvE players take the PvE route. It's not fun or enjoyable for anyone to be forced into a game mode they don't like just to complete content they paid for.

Agreed... Not everyone likes pvp. Yet they hide so many exotic and catalysts behind pvp required things. All exotics and catalysts should have a split route between pve or pvp depending on what you like. Even if they have to double requirements for pve that would be fine I would rather farm then bang my head against the wall trying to get pvp done... It's literally more fun giving myself a concussion.
