Some people are still holding a grudge against the crow for killing Cayde. To be honest it still hurts. But we have to make the observation that
1. The crow was practically possessed when he killed Cayde
2. He’s got to be one of the most loyal characters in destiny history. Like seriously this guy went through hell for his sister and queen. Did he make the wrong choice? Yes. But we’re his motives bad? No.
I like to think that I didn’t shoot him and that it was Petra. When I was holding the ace to his head I had more pity than anger. And am glad to say that I am friends with Uldren and no matter how much my ghost hates him, I forgive him. And if you guys have a problem with that.

6 RepliesIf people can forgive Banshee, who was Clovis Bray and committed uncountable atrocities, then they can forgive Crow.

Edited by DarkenedAcolyte: 2/18/2021 7:01:07 AM1. Uldren was not possessed when he killed Cayde, I mean, he was, but he wasn’t forced to do it. Uldren killed Cayde of his own free will, to please his “sister” 2. Why are you bringing loyalty into the question? The guy has been wanting to kill us since we first stepped foot in the Reef in D1. He “helped” us find the Black Garden hoping it would kill us. I don’t care who he’s loyal to. He can die in a fire for all i care

4 RepliesThe fact that he is so naive and wants humanity to stop slaughtering their enemies now that they have gained the upper hand after suffering atrocity after atrocity at the hands of the many invaders would piss the people of the city off massively.

2 RepliesUldren was evil befor meat ball came along Meat ball just rammped up the next level of evil Cayde's Murder by this piece of s hit will be avenged You lot will dance around making excuses for Uldren Let's take it further In real life if someone murdered your friend and it was blamed on them not being themselves; I'd bet you'd jump right up and forgive them... No you wouldn't Eye for an Eye

2 RepliesI missed the whole crow storyline in season of the hunt, I assume you needed the pass. Can someone give me a quick recap?

I think a lot of people's problems are with Uldren, not Crow. They are really two very deferent beasts in many regards but yeah. Now let's talk about the other stuff. Uldren strait up admitted he would send Guardian into what he perceived as death traps for fun, and that was before the possession. He would blow up his own people because they were getting to close with the guardians in his own mind. He was prequal trilogy Anakin at best and the context I have in my mind for his padme makes him even more disgusting then he already was. he deserved his shots from Petra and the Guardian, Period. Now let's talk about Crow, oh my god is he an improvement, 1 he actually is interested in perusing peace unlike every other character in this series, including his past self. 2 he doesn't have a creepy/unhealthy relationship with Mara. 3 Instead of being an edge-lord he is pure cinnamon. 4 he is actually fairly funny. my point is, please don't conflate the two. one is a cinnamon roll the other is an Indian pickle, and if you don't know what that food is I'll just say it is a torture devise, I like spicy food but damn just one of those...

7 RepliesHe will have a better character arc than Cayde, mark my words

1 ReplyHim being “possessed” means absolutely nothing as all of that was Uldren. Uldrens dead, Crow is alive. He’s a completely different person now and the only thing that’s the same is his face, I don’t know why people say that Uldren = Crow.
-
he sent me on a roundabout mission hoping i'd die in destiny 1, being a smug emo prick the entire time. aside from killing cayde now hes a naive new light that whines about peace and being nice to the alien races trying to exterminate us. i cringe at the sound of his voice and the sjw nonsense it brings, and I'm not alone. clearly everyone on comms during the battlefield missions do not vibe with him. i hate his hair, did i mention that? my guardian doesn't give him the time of day, and why should i? hes a welp. hundreds of other welps get revived on a weekly basis

1 ReplyI am a little resentful about the badass armor he gets. That suit is DOPE.
-
8 RepliesI was so happy when he killed Cayde: one of the best characters was destroyed by Bungie, turning him into that uncle that makes silly jokes at parties. Hell, I'm taking Crow for dinner tonight. He is a hero.
-
42 RepliesYou guys take this all way too seriously. It's just a game. "I'll never forgive him" "he's a decent person really" All these sort of comments... He doesn't exist. He's a fictional character!

sometimes bad means good

I wonder if Amanda would forgive him if she knew. She seems like an understanding person, but Cayde was growing on her, always there to accompany her

3 RepliesCrow is great. Uldren sucked.

Guardian, Archon Of LightArchon Priest Of House Light - old
Somebody get him a real hunter helmet, that phantom of the opera mask just doesn’t look right ,even the smiley face helm from the season pass would be better than that And in all seriousness,my guardian killed Uldren Sov,and would do it again ,it was meant to be this way, because if the awoken prince wasn’t killed, the Guardian Crow would have never existed ,and Crow is my guardians adopted brother -
1 ReplyFun fact not related to crow: uldren canonically tortured ghost and guardians! Yays!
-
2 RepliesPfft. I shot that -blam!-. And I'll do it again when the time comes, and it will come....
-
I like to think our guardian shot uldren, and gradually came to regret this decision. It's why we chose to free crow from spider (rather than take the gjallarhorn in his stash): our guardian felt this was the least they could do to make things right from what we've done.

2 RepliesCrow isnt Uldren. Uldren killed Cayde. When Crow was brought to life by his Ghost, his identity, his consciousness became anew. He, like all guardians don't have memories of their previous life. Their old consciousness dies with their old selves. (there are some exceptions, Ana Bray for example). So the Crow we know, has the same face as Uldren, hence why he is hiding it. But he is not Uldren. However there are some suggestions that his sister is somehow reaching out to him. During Wrathborn hunts he mentions hearing a womans voice speak to him. Also - I like to think my guardian shot Uldren dead.

10 Repliesyeah im still gonna blast him first chance i get.
-
1 ReplyIdc that he killed cayde. They werent doing anything interesting with cayde anymore. Hell his death was the first time in years he was actually interesting outside of a comedic role. They can do alot with crow that they couldnt with cayde. So im ok with the trade off personally.

1 ReplyYou know what you did....
-
1 ReplyI think he’s an interesting character. Quite possibly one a small few of interesting characters in the game’s universe. I still don’t think he should be a Vanguard the minute after he was born a Guardian. Of course that’s probably the only reason why Zavala got the job. He might’ve been interesting at one time and that was enough to be a Vanguard.

6 RepliesCrow is going to kill this franchise with the help of the idiots writing for Bungie.
