Skill up made an excellent review of Destiny at its current state. Yes, he loves the game, but not BL/Season of the Hunt. It was all the catching up he had for over a year to do, not the new stuff. Destiny is trying to be this wierd amalgimation of a F2P phone like game where you have to keep players attention every week to keep us playing. This doesn't work for a console/PC game. We need quality updates and content that drips with depth. A 3 month content cycle isn't working like it did when you had other devs like Vicarious Visions helping you make decent/great content to help build up the end game.
Skill Up brought up FFXIV and how Yoshi-P the lead said "We want you to play other games in the downtime. Come back when there is new content to enjoy". Bungie, this philosophy is what Destiny needs. Let us take a break from the game while you make great new content. Maybe add an exotic quest here and there but stop it with this seasonal crap that is just not good anymore. Hunt stunk up a high heaven and honestly all it needed was Hawkmoon addition for it to be a welcomed update to BL.
We need Foresaken/Taken King sized expansions. Beyond Light/Shadowkeep isn't cutting it for a yearly wait expansion for $40. The value isn't there.

8 RepliesSkill-up has good opinions, but he has this level of faith in Bungie that I'm pretty sure is just going to keep disappointing due to how misplaced it is. Beyond Light's review actually bought in on the "Destiny's best days are ahead of us" crap. He laid it how as "How much do you trust Bungie?" when I'm pretty sure the real question is "How much abhorrent BS are you willing to put up with?". And the irony is that Bungie has rode the "Destiny is a game to come back to when new stuff hits" train. They envision it like this.
