Bungo Logic: Snipers are bad right now, let's nerf them more.
So the last couple of changes to zoom scopes and aim assist, made them underperform (from the past D1 and D2 history). They are just not good anymore. Shotguns are overpowered at a whole other level. And now, we get no buff, but we get an additional nerf?
Trials and Crucible (the game in general) is at an all time low (your stats, not ours) and you still do stuff like this.
Nerf shotgun range at least. I've gotten stupid kills that should have never happened with shotguns (switched since snipers are crap).
You even had to type some sorry excuse on the TWAB to mention the sniper nerf. I think you do this on purpose.

I tried sniping this iron banner. It was horrible. Even with my reticle on their heads wouldn’t register a hit. And sometimes I’d shoot with reticle on their head and I’d get a body shot. Was super annoyed with how bad snipers are now in pvp

1 ReplySnipers were supposed to have gotten their aim assist nerf to prevent shooting through flinch. If flinch is being increased, the AA should be brought back.

1 ReplyAs much as I hate shotguns, a sniper meta is so much worse imo. You can't ever challenge a sniper. You can outplay shotguns (depending on the map), but not snipers. This is the worst in trials where a cross map one shot will quickly lose you the round if you are not extremely careful about it. Not fun at all

The changes have just made it much harder to learn to snipe. People who are already good still own. But anyone who wants to learn is pretty much screwed.

Sniper issues that led to nerf were PC problems, not console. While snipers are usable in PC, they turned trash in consoles...

1 ReplySnipers are bullshit powerful and need nerfs, but they're nerfing them in worst way possible. If they want to nerf them properly, they should fix bug/feature that makes flinch pull your reticle towards head.

So because the game no longer snipes for you they're bad? Perhaps it's user error and all these fake god tier snipers are trash at sniping.

15 RepliesAmen. And a fusion range buff at the same time? It took forever and a video from a streamer showing the potential range with an Erentil at one time before they were reduced. Before back up plan was acknowledged. Before anyone recognized that usage rates do not always correlate with the effectiveness of a gun. Erentil usage could have been higher when it had an 80m kill potential. I just think a fair amount of people prefer not to be reliant on the anti-ape weapon type. AND NOT BECAUSE OF A CHARGE RATE. The ones about to come out the wood work saying they respect them more than other specials. Doesn't seem to effect the 25 zoom no flinch Arbalest being looked into. I can't recall ever hearing a teammate say, "Damn that guy is good with Telesto." But they respect snipers and shotgunners when they are outplayed by those two "cheesy weapons" types... Because the people using shotguns and snipers demonstrate good movement and reticle placement. People using fusions sit back and pre-charge in lanes from behind cover in rifts scared of shotgunners. Fusions previously encroached on every other weapon type in the game with a reticle the size of a f*cking rocket launcher. It's constant expansion and contraction in this self imploding beautiful digital space-magic fantasy. Why are we regressing?!

Has somebody who regularly snipes maybe you don't quite understand how to use a sniper right now. They are nowhere near weak. Any good sniper will control the entire field. They know how to anticipate how people move, and they will bottleneck an entire team for moving forward because they are afraid to get their head taken off. The minute somebody decent sees a red scope they will never pick that lane, or if they do then they better have a really really good plan.

The only thing adjusted was aim assist. Although technically a nerf, the hit box being smaller is not a nerf per your skill. No disrespect, but you want the game to hit your shots more? The same with the additional flinch... you are not hitting your shot, the game is doing it for you. That is why it is getting adjusted. Be it you might want the assist to do the gaming for you, the majority do not.

Forum Logic: Snipers require no skill and I like to use them in the back of the map with little to no risk of being killed. If anyone nerfs them, I'm going to complain because it threatens the only way I know how to play PVP.

5 RepliesSnipers are weak? They have non existent flinch and still tons of aim assist (they should have non) even after the nerf. They are still easy mode. The real issue is the maps are too small for them to be effective.

Worst thing about sniper rifles is the target acquisition its way too big. Reducing damage or anything else won't matter. Head shot is a head shot

I don't even care any more, I spam 120hcs and Jotunn and don't even feel bad about it. The current meta is stupid, the incoming one will be even worse.
