The Traveler sucks and the Fallen are correct to hate it.
The Traveler is the epitome of a toxic relationship yeah it’s good when you get attention and it makes you feel chosen but the Traveler literally already tried to leave us like it did to the fallen and only stayed because the warmimd literally had to cripple it to get it to stay.
It literally doesn’t care about us past using us for safe harbor. Am I not seeing something about it that others are? We even get the dark timeline lore where it literally abandoned us for a second time.
The Traveler sucks and is a coward. I’m not saying the darkness is better because I don’t know that but clearly the only ones that care about the sol system are the ones living there
Edit: I have learned Rasputin shooting the traveler is up for debate. But the traveler still doesn’t sit right with me especially after reading the dark timeline lore.
Edit 2: Wouldn’t a better life for us have been not causing humanity’s greatest cataclysm in history.
Isn’t the traveler a higher being? What kind of god like higher life form that’s supposedly benevolent keeps leading its mortal enemy that destroys everything, to new solar systems again and again.
Unless it knows exactly what it’s doing and chooses to keep doing it anyway.

1 ReplyLike, we're called 'Guardians', because the Traveler brought us back to be protectors, but why would it have us protect humanity when it tried to abandon it before? Guardians were never meant to protect humanity, that's just a convenience that makes the main goal a little easier: protect the Traveler.

1 ReplyI was under the impression that most of the Fallen want the Traverler back, hence why they are in our Solar system. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there's a lot of anger at the Traveler because it abandoned them. But Fallen like Eramis who outright hate the Traveller seem to be rare.

3 RepliesThere is a lore entry where it shows the travelers thoughts. The traveler knew that it would bring ruin to the Eliksni but it coupsnt bring itself to leave because of their kinship to it. The traveler actually learned something from each civilization. I think that it is tired of running and is fighting for humanity.

7 RepliesOk, when did they say that the traveler tried to leave us? If you're talking about rasputins plan, it was never clear that if he used that plan or not. And yeah, it left the fallen, because if he tried to fight, it would probably lose. It almost did in the colapse.

It’s unclear whether the traveller was ever shot at. What happened in the past doesn’t really matter imo. What matters is the traveller created the ghosts and guardians, and gave humanity a second chance that we otherwise most certainly would not have gotten. Not sure how much you read the lore but unveiling is quite telling of the ideology war that’s actually taking place. Calus, Atheon, Oryx, Aksis, etc. these aren’t gods. The Traveller and the Darkness are gods. Waging war of their ideology. Simplicity of death vs complexity of life. We’re the Traveller’s Oryx. Seriously just read/reread unveiling. It’s too late for me to be this existential.

5 RepliesAgreed. I think it would have been more interesting if the traveler and the darkness were equal but opposed forces. While they are opposed, they are anything but equal. Darkness has literally whooped the traveler once and is closing in again. No idea if the number of triangles matters (are they one, or all together capable of being traveler-like?). You said it. All the traveler does is run, because it knows it can’t beat the dark. If they were equal forces, the traveler would have no need to run.

It is not certain if Rasputin activated ABHORRENT IMPERATIVE(the protocol that commands bombarding the Traveler if it tries to leave). Also, the Fallen worship the traveler. Even created the servitors in his image. The invaded Earth in an attempt to regain his ''favor''. The House Salvation(eramis' fallen) is the one that hates the Traveler, and actively seeks vengence for abandoning them.

The traveler always leaves any species it ‘saves’ with a golden age. It left the fallen, and prior species. It does this because that’s it’s nature, it always chooses peace unseats of fighting. Instead of trying to push back against the darkness, it always flees. I’m pretty sure the only time it ever fought back itself was before time itself in the lore when the gardener and the winower (light and darkness) got in this massive fight that literally caused the universe to begin. So really if something like the two powers fighting happened again, who knows, maybe the entire universe would end or something. Not saying it’s good what the traveler does, but in the destiny universe, it is the gardener/travelers nature to revert to peace and life rather than fight.
