Why is there a MIDA weapon in destiny but no UNSC weapons or whatever
-
343 owns Halo.
-
2 RepliesA few reasons: 1: bungie doesn’t own halo, but they do own marathon 2: they are kinda primitive/clunky However, nods to the game do still exist in destiny, like MC in VoG, and a few others I can’t recall of the top of my head.

1 ReplyDidn’t the rights to the halo IP go to 343 and MSFT?
-
1 ReplyI think it’s because 343 owns halo now
-
5 RepliesTelesto isn't that far off from the Needler.
-
2 RepliesHalo weapons would be primitive compared to Destiny weapons.
-
Bungie sold the right to Microsoft when they decided to move on to Destiny. They can do marathon references, because they still own the rights. That being said you can see a lot of guns are inspired by guns from halo. The breach gls look very similar to the reach gl. Some scouts look similar to the DMR from reach. Halo had the assault rifle, aka auto rifles, Dmrs aka scouts, BRs aka pulses, pistols aka hand cannons, rockets, snipers, shotguns, smgs, ect..

3 RepliesI mean there's a Master Chief guardian. That's good enough imo
-
1 ReplyI found an old Mac with marathon 1 and 2 on it, was a great game series!
-
3 RepliesI had to google that. How interesting. I was never aware of marathon back in the day, wish I was now. Maybe “matter” is a marathon remake/reboot/reimagining?
-
Bungie still owns the Marathon IP and can make any tie-ins with it they want. They do not own the Halo IP. Same way in the Halo CE remaster much of the Marathon references were scrubbed because 343/MS didn't own the IP.
-
Because I bungie doesn’t have rights to halo anymore
-
1 ReplyBungie doesn't own the rights to Halo so they would have to pay Microsoft for the ability to do so. Bungie still owns Marathon though ..
-
2 RepliesHereafter in d1 was an near-replica of a halo sniper I thought

2, actually. There’s the MIDAS Multi-Tool and the MIDAS Mini-Tool.
