Stasis is profoundly un-fun in PvP.
I’m sure some of you are enjoying it. That’s cool. Good for you.
I’m not. My playtime has dwindled, and several of my friends have outright quit the game. I’ve been playing D2 PvP since year one, and this is BY FAR the most frustrating, least enjoyable season ever in Crucible.
Won’t be buying the season pass. Or the next expansion. Or anything at all from Bungie, until I see some sort of real effort to improve the PvP experience.
Stasis is a colossal misstep. Change it, nerf it, buff it, balance it however you want. CC abilities this strong, on this short of a cooldown, and with this many ways to further buff them and accelerate the cooldowns, have zero place in any kind of PvP shooter — period.

Edited by Snottie: 2/4/2021 9:18:29 PMThe main problem I see with Stasis is that you go into an encounter with another player and if they're using Stasis then they pretty much set the pace of the fight in such a profoundly oppressive way. In the hands of a competent player it's a death sentence because it can (in the worst case for the player using it) open you up by slowing the play of the other player, and at worst it completely removes player agency and basically sets you up like a bowling pin. Worst part is that it doesn't really have a hard counter, the only real counter is "just don't get hit forehead" and that's a bummer.

2 RepliesHonestly my only issue with Stasis is that they released a Hard CC class yet didn't think to add in CCR or Cleanse effects. They talk so much about being like wow but can't even put in the natural counter to CC like Stasis being a support CC option that can cleanse or reduce the effects of CC. (For example healing grenades from Warlock can cleanse Stasis effects like Slow/Freeze. Smoke Bomb on Hunter that can make Ally's invisible can cleanse stasis effects, and Suppressor grenade can cleanse allys of Stasis. Heck could even make it so you can stick allies with any of the sticky grenades and instead of hurting them it cleanses.) The problem is Bungie released Stasis unrestrained and very strong which is a common tactic in gaming to get interest on a DLC, new character, or even a new game. Though they are taking steps to balance Stasis out the problem they created is a very Bungie level of BS. The complacent and downright lazy attitude at Bungie is what is killing the game. Stasis is just helping at doing it.

Another alternative would be to have a piece of armour which has a perk which negates Stasis. it would make a great exotic quest.

It's satisfying to counter Hunters shatterdiving so mindlessly. I'm not gonna tell you stasis isn't OP, because it is somewhat out of hand sometimes. BUT, it can be beaten (: I say give PvP another shot out of your comfort zone, and maybe you'll find your own counter to stasis! Best of luck

Stasis is terrible in PVP. Any ability or super that stops the flow of the game and action of the game is just a poor decision. I'd like to see armor that has resistance to this hot mess. Overall, it's a bit OP and needs to be dialed back.

3 RepliesSlow should never be a thing in PvP especially with the fragment that makes it way more OP. I shouldn’t be a sitting duck unable to jump or run away because a duskfield nade pulled me across the map. I swear no one play tests these abilities in PvP

Well you could be waiting a very long time! Stasis was intended to be op to sell BL...its going no where. Pvp is less of a focus for Bungie.....more pve now. It's a space magic game also there are more dark supers coming up so it'll get even more crazy in pvp 😁

FPS PVP should NEVER have such ready access to freezing. In PVE, everything freezing is fine; PVP, not so much. None of the Stasis supers should roam or instakill people (because if they're frozen, they're dead anyway) and the abilities should just slow players down, not freeze them.

5 RepliesI’m guessing stasis suck because your frozen from it and unable to move, causing your brain to overload for thinking of ways to escape in that short time? Other supers one shot, negate most other supers by a bubble or tether (tether/freeze) and your crying over change rather than accept that it’s a super that can’t always KO you! Grenades are no more OP than lingering arc, trip-mines or ranged solar melee and like wtf is that anyway on warlock, across the melee one shot lol and your crying over not being KO instantly! Childish to not want change and so stubborn you can’t see past or even a way around, personally, striker Titan still kicks butt in quick kills rather than freeze and follow up, git gud!

They knew it was going to be an issue in crucible but they needed to sell BL. And they knew all the little Bunnies fans would jump all over it as their top streamers that did jump all over it as well to help them sell it. IMO, all stasis did is make crucible a cluster... and showed how Bunnies lied as usual about "power creep". Bunnies have become so fake that no one even has to put any effort to see what they are all about these days.
