Hi, I’m reaching out here as I’ve had no response from a request to reduce my restriction I sent out a couple weeks ago.
I respect Destiny’s policy on connectivity requirements but feel that the punishment, and it very much feels that way, is too severe.
This is my second restriction. The first was over the Christmas holidays. I will admit that I received a warning that my internet may be causing people’s internet matchmaking activities. I dismissed it at first but then received a tree week ban for crucible and gambit. I realized playing over WIFI may be the issue. I connected using the LAN line and pleaded with help to reduce the restriction time. I received no response.
I’m not a big PVP player but do enjoy it from time to time. Chasing pinnacles and Iron Banner with the clan. I went back in once my restriction ended and was soon banned for two months! I thought my connection was fine as I wasn’t experiencing and issues in matches or in PVE group activity’s. I received this ban after a match that I didn’t see any lagging but understand that there were in fact issues. My issue is that there was not another warning. I was under the impression that I had fixed the issue and I confirmed with my provider my speeds were adequate. I downloaded a speed test app and have realized the the router the internet company provides isn’t optimal for gaming. I ordered a gaming router (Netgear Nighthawk) and sent an email to Bungie help explaining that I have a new router and asking to reduce the length of my ban. No response...
Please Bungie, two months is a big punishment. I am doing everything I can to make my connection as good as I can but without giving me a warning that there was still an issue and then a two month punishment is crazy. I’ve been a Destiny player since D1 but this is starting to take some of the love from the game.
I really hope you can help reduce the restriction as I’d really like to try out the new router I received.
Thanks,
Espion420

2 RepliesAllo there, The #Help forums are not able to assist with appeals of restrictions or bans. However, there is a process in place for you to appeal your ban or restriction. You may want to look at Bungie's network troubleshooting guide as well as check with your ISP to see if your connection has any issues. Please review the Contact Form: Appeal Ban or Restriction article found here. Please note that, as mentioned in the article, there is no guarantee for a response, nor is there a guarantee that your ban or restriction will be overturned. 9 RepliesWhere is @spx118 to comment on this one? Hey Spx look, someone who thought the had good connection but the tests proved otherwise! Looks like your opinion that all these “unfair restrictions” aren’t unfair afterall.

13 RepliesThe Contact Form: Appeal Ban or Restriction article states that a response to an appeal is not guaranteed; based on your post, you can assume your appeal was denied and the restriction upheld. If you are continually receiving restrictions, then you have failed to correct issues with your network connection that are negatively impacting other players, and are lucky Bungie no longer issues permanent restrictions to matchmade activities after 3 strikes.
