At this point I don't think there even is a crucible team. Otherwise what are they doing?

17 RepliesMy straight honest feelings are that pvp should be taken out of Destiny. Bungie could concentrate on raids, strikes, story content, better weapons... Perfect the Iron Banner and have only the Iron Banner come around twice a season. Most of the negativity comes from pvp and trials. Stasis issues wouldn't be a thing. Or sell the pvp part to another company create and let the sweaties buy and play that nonsense. Destiny as a pve only game would be amazing

"Renewed focus on PvP" 🤣🤣🤣🤣👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍

4 RepliesIt is obvious that Activision was the one creating maps and pvp content because it all ended when they left.

Yeup and all the best ones have been in the game since launch lol. An were still playing 6v6 on dead cliffs, anomaly, and cauldron as well as all these other maps that are designed for 4v4. We need new maps actually designed for 6v6 as well as bringing skirmish back. Give us a 3v3 clash game mode for people who don't enjoy the absolute chaos of 6v6 on maps like anomaly which play terribly and may as well be shotguns only on maps like that.

Bungie - no new maps since Forsaken. Season of Opulence - the last good season. According to Bungie "Without our friends at VVisionsStudio (Vicarious Visions), Season of Opulence wouldn't have been possible." The change in product quality and quantity can objectively be seen dropping after Activision pulled the help away. Activision COO was quoted as saying with regards to the split ""Bungie gets to focus on the [Destiny IP] that they have created and we get to focus on our biggest opportunities on our biggest franchises with our best resources" and "[Bungie was] tying up one of our scarcest resources--developer talent." I know Bungie claimed the split was a good move, but the reality looks like the best years of the franchise were when they were with Activision. The annual DLC this year looked more like the level of content Black Armory had but with a new planet and stasis. The current seasons are dismally light on content. And recently, Bungie has resorted to recycling old D1 content to try to keep up appearances. Don't expect better, this is the best they can do. I wouldn't be surprised if we never see a new PvP map, just some recycled ones from here on out. Strikes may even be in the same boat, I think the only time we may see a new one is the annual DLC. I personally think they're so invested in their NetEase project that they really wouldn't care if D2 died. They're just milking the game for what cash.

1 ReplyI though t we wanted pvp removed?

Edited by TheShadow: 2/2/2021 5:58:36 AMI guess constantly asking for D1 content added to D2 or reuse content has been paid off. You players that don't want to push this company to actually do a little work should be proud of yourselves.

PVP is shit period right now.. not sure why anyone cares lol

Was hoping pvp had improved. Don’t think it will bring me back to the game looking at the current state

We need more pvp maps. A Europa one would’ve been amazing! Or maybe one in the tangled shore that’s actually good since gamblers run or whatever it was called sucked really bad. There’s all these good locations we have and no new maps. But that’s what happens when you go free to play. Most of the effort goes into creating skins and eververse content.

Edited by Reckless Grizzly: 2/2/2021 2:21:21 AMBungo got rid of the good ones and recycled the sh!tty ones. Good job Bungo...

2 RepliesWe don't have all the answers. But one thing I know. Game has now Free-to-Play elements. Crucible is one of that mode that is free. It seems like they are not improving much things that are free or are offered in the free stream. This is just my opinion. You can see it happening in the entire game. Old D1 strikes coming back. Old D1 locations coming back. Old D1 raids coming back. Old D1 crucible maps. See the pattern?... This is happening in the entire scale of the game. This is definitely a shift in what's been happening in the game over 6 years. You may be right. Maybe nobody is working with new stuff on the crucible now except maintaining it. It's in cruise control, in driving lingo so to speak. We could hypothesize that they are working on other projects now, and that they may pull some team over there. Creativity is needed to bring out the wow factor and they are using it and channel it to their new projects. Nothing is infinite in this world. And talent doesn't come out easily from small packages like a bearded dwarf! When you see a game cruising in cruise control, the future for creativity is bleak. If that's where this game is headed, then all I can say is... Welcome to Fantasy Land baby!!! 😂😂😂

At this point im conviced they vaulted the ones that broke from stasis, and the ones related to sunset content and just called it a day. I wouldn’t be suprised if they came back slowly throughout the next year

2 RepliesI gave up playing pvp a while ago and tbh I'm glad I did. Destiny hasn't gone anywhere or changed for the better in any way since I started playing a different game for pvp over a year ago. This game needs more than what bungie is capable of doing and the game is suffering for it. Now I just max out my characters and complete the new pve content then play another game for pvp. Nothing wrong with playing other games but now I play other games far more than this one.

BRING THEM ALL BACK
-
1 ReplyThey just need to turn the crucible maps design over to the community at this point and then make a game mode that lets us test those maps. At the end of each season ask the player base if they want any of those maps added to the normal rotation.
-
11 Repliesd1 maps are the only good pvp maps imo
-
I keep wondering what happened to Bungie's "renewed focus on pvp"? Wasn't that back 2019? 6v6s are an ability-spam crutch fest and very few people play Trials. Only playlist I'm enjoying at the moment is Comp, and even that doesn't have a pinnacle reward anymore.
-
Even just reissuing the rest of D1 maps would be an improvement. The one I liked best was the spooky one in the Cosmodrome wall.
-
Edited by CookieNiki: 2/1/2021 8:54:11 PMAnd Bungie thinks that Seasonal Challenges (aka Bounties in a Package) are the next GREAT thing, "forgetting" that players are completely exhausted of playing the SAME OLD, WORN, TEDIOUS, CORE ACTIVITIES! But hey, there's hope! They said that leaving Activision would finally let them show us all the magnificence of Destiny, their creative power and the amazing ideas they had to this franchise, but that they couldn't deliver because of the "bad publisher" control. That was more than 2 years ago. We're still waiting on that awesomeness to show itself in the game. My guess is we'll already be retired and still waiting for it. ps: you should do the same for strikes.
-
1 ReplyAnd if we do get "New Maps", you can bet dollars to donuts they will be recycled D1 maps. Minimal effort for maximum Cash is Bungle's mantra these days.

There isn’t a Crucible team, been that way for about 2 years.
