This video shows a load of great improvements that can be made to the loot system and I feel like almost all of these changes would be extremely well received by the whole community.

While I didn't agree with all of his proposed changes with tackling stasis I pretty much agree with everything in this video. This is the second video I've seen from him and he does do good work at least as far as tackling topics in an informative way. My only worry is bloat. A lot of what he says in this video is good. I agree that the loot climbing is stale and needs changes. However a part of Sunsetting was to reduce Bungie's load for bug fixing and general balancing for pve and pvp. And I have to wonder if the changes to having multiple versions of the same weapons on top of always having relevant blues would be too much for Bungie to handle.

This video was really good. It provided a lot of great ideas to make weapons feel more meaningful. I also loved the idea behind making blue weapons a good baseline that can be carried between seasons through sunsetting. Of course because all those were good ideas, Bungie will never do anything like that.

What you want and what Bungie is going to do doesn't coexist. Bungie has been giving way more than enough feedback over the years and it's been many years to actually head the game in the right direction, it's the people that make that the calls that are holding this game back from actually improving becoming one of the best games out to date. It's not and it's buried way below quite a few games and I can care less what anyone says about steam or any of that as some try to use that weak at best argument. Case and point, Warzone has 80 million that pouts this game to shame, and even with the new light system this game is struggling to keep what player base it has. Why? it's because the key devs that cared about this game and the direction it was meant to head in left this company, or Bungie forced them to quit like destroying Staten's work. They have just become another company that is only creating a game with minimal effort for a profit, no passion, inspiration, motivation, creativity has been put into this game Bungie as a compnay by themselves. Without that, it's just an empty shell as anyone can see at this point. Bungie actually needed Activation, they were the only ones riding their asses to do right by the player base having them at least try to do their job considering what Activation is all about.

Edited by TJ_Dot: 1/30/2021 5:36:52 PMI want Sunsetting gone before some insane weapon system that gives off big power creep vibes with all the pinnacle, and adept crap. Even that with power caps would not be enticing. Still a Hamster Wheel.

1 ReplyThe extra rarities of Pinnacle and Adept would be pointless. I could maybe see one for the inclusion of his intrinsic perk idea, but having both would be entirely unnecessary. He calls this weapons 2.0, which is misleading, as this is the exact same system we've had since destiny 1 vanilla, just with more player agency attached to it. Speaking of, that much extra player agency isn't a good idea because we need more RNG and more reasons to grind content, not less. Some things make sense, like being able to reroll masterworks on weapons, while other things would reduce the grind too much, such as being able to reroll a perk on a weapon and giving each weapon two traits in each column. The idea of endgame content dropping gear with unique perks and stats and intrinsic traits is a wonderful idea, so wonderful in fact that bungie has already begun implementing it even without an arbitrary extra tier of weapons. Dungeons will have guns with exclusive rolls, DSC already has exclusive raid perks and targeted loot farming. I will say that adding a unique Adept mod-slot is a great idea. I don't know how I feel about being able to change the element of a weapon. On the one hand, letting players change the element is cool and would help fill in gaps that sunsetting leaves open. However, as it stands bungie could give us three handcannons with Rampage/Dragonfly roll, put teach of those guns behind difficult content, and players now have a reason to farm all three of those activities. Allowing players to change the elements of a weapon would probably reduce the total output of guns we get to compensate for this.

I watched this video yesterday, and he hits the nail on the head. A weapons system like this would be incredible!

6 RepliesEdited by THE SARGE 01: 1/31/2021 1:01:17 AMStopped watching as soon as he said, “Bungie should introduce a new tier of weapon between legendary and exotic......pinnacle”. Where was this guy when Luna’s Howl, Not Forgotten, Recluse, Mountaintop, Revoker, among other were a thing? Those pinnacle weapons that were sunset, because, reasons. Bungie said the reason for sunsetting was power creep. The real reason was creative atrophy, sort of like writer’s block.

except not all blues are bad. Botheration, allegro, aachen, sondok c, azimuth d, ros lysis. I could go on...

12 RepliesAnother YouTuber been saying this since Shadowkeep but Bungie stopped affiliating with them over Lies. Mad respect for Kujay tho

5 RepliesBlows my mind that so many players come up with fantastic changes for the game’s many problems, and Bungie still misses the mark by a mile.
-
Sorry to break this to you. I came up with a weapons 2.0 idea. Only problem is it would break the game alittle bit more and force bungie to nerf something new that would come out. Weapons 2.0 and armor 2.0 is a useless idea when in reality it is just the same crap we are dealing with now. Also the post didn’t go far in the forums and is now lost to time like most post I made.

These changes would be wonderful! Especially the changes to Rare items and the Auto Dismantle function.

No No And no
Also, no
That's a definite no for me. There is a need for upgrades to the system but not one that splits the player base even more.
