Xenology quest not available anymore on all tree Characters
tl/dr
Neither XUR offers, nor is the Quest in Kiosk after abandon/dismantle/drop. I also do not have a Cypher!!
Hi, for two weeks now I do not receive the Exotic Cypher Quest from XUR anymore after dropping it two weeks ago. The following situation resulted in this bug:
I had the quest on all 3 Chars. After I finished the quest I turned it in with my titan bevor Xur disappeared resp the weekly reset occurs and got the cypher. I did not return the quest with the other 2 characters. So the quest was gone on my Titan for this week but not on the other two, and on those two it still stated: Talk to XUR. I thought this will be no problem, when he returns on friday I can hand in the empty quest and grab the new one. But this was actually not the case! I went to XUR... but I were not able to hand in the old quests. So I went there with my Titan and used my cypher. Then I took the Xenology quest and thought I can now handin the old ones... or at least drop them and grab them again! Both things did not work. I dropped the obsolete quests on my other 2 chars but did not get a new one from XUR, neither were they available at the towerkiosk. I then thought maybe when I drop the quest on my Titan too, I can pick the active quest up again in the towerkiosk with all three or maybe then i can get the quest again from XUR... But also this did not work... and the quest is now gone on all three chars, not available at XUR, and not available at the tower kiosk. I thought the next weekly reset may fix this problem for me... but this week I went to XUR again... turned in 99 shards but now there would be the cypher to be turned in to get an exotic and trigger the availability of the quest. Since I do not have the cypher I cannot trigger this and I do not have the quest to get a cypher from XUR. So it seems I am stuck in a deadlock, except Bungie gives me either the quest back or a cypher. BTW is there no other way to contact Bungie support for such annoying issues than a forum?

so we just dont have the xenologie quest for the rest of time now? no fun :(

I’m having the same problem. Been over a month now. I’m also debating on quitting since I can’t get exotic weapons. Everyone keep telling me I must have a cipher but I don’t. They also tell me to check archives and I did that with all characters. Bungie is no help because there is no way to contact them about gameplay problems. They say to ask forums but forums is just players helping each other. Very frustrating

3 RepliesDo you currently have a copy of the Xenology quest, or did you previously abandon the Xenology quest? Have you checked the Quest Archive kiosk in the Tower on all 3 characters for abandoned quests?
