It's coming...
Them rebalancing PC recoil to bring the experience closer to what we have on console leads me to believe they are going to allow PC cheaters to invade the console ecosystem.
I'm willing to bet they are counting on most casual players not caring one way or the other, so if they turn cross play on by default, those of us who don't want to deal with extremely long que times will potentially be forced to opt in as well or embrace PC cheaters in the crucible.
The matchmaking is already horrible enough with adding aim bot and wall hacks to console lobbies.
Just look at APEX legends, and watch how long it takes to find a game with cross play disabled.

You know cheaters aren't actually as common as YouTubers say right. I've run into more on raid teams than in pvp lol. I'm all for options but don't have a freakout if they don't do it.

Everyone up vote this so it gets to the top. Bungie NEEDS to see this as I don’t think they have thought about it. Luckily OP has 200 IQ and realised this but he needs to let the professional game developers know before it’s too late. Please upvote!!
smfh

7 RepliesIf they don’t let us turn that functionality off. Myself and my clan will quit pvp. We were literally just discussing it while grinding pvp. Bungie can’t be that out of touch. Can they?
-
1 ReplyLet’s hope they communicate with us the details and are actually open to fine tuning it and releasing it as it should be and not raw. These are all fair observations that deserve to be addressed. All players console and PC deserve to have their voices heard on this
-
The reason I have never bought a gaming pc is because I didn't want to deal with the cheating/hacker community. They better not force cross play like warzone. This will literally be the nail in the coffin for Destiny crucible...
-
I'll be deleting destiny if it's forced, no anti-cheat like wtf🖕
-
Wait, so you're mad that you'll have to go to options and click "cross play off" one time? Must be rough.
-
2 RepliesJust get better you don't know how you'll play against them.
-
4 RepliesSo everyone will solely play in pve , crossplay will be quite welcome , pvp hasn't been a good experience for a long time in destiny so crossplay is just more drama . Trials the so called pvp endgame was the second lowest ever across the game last weekend . Less then 100 000 playing . It's clear the writing is on the wall for pvp in destiny .

Until they talk about it in detail you are just making baseless assumptions.
-
I do not wish to play with the pc babies.
I know someone's gonna get triggered
-
I’ve been cross playing cod, fantastic option to opt in and out whenever you choose, sure the limitless spam of thermite sticks is terrifying, but it is only a feature that makes the game more hard core!
im a hateful masochist look at whom I service
-
If we don’t have the option to opt out this game will easily be sunset.
-
1 ReplyOpt in or out? You think with the rebalancing of M&K you are even gonna get the option? I don't. You either will cross play or not play. I don't think they are going to give the choice.

Edited by BraddyBo: 1/30/2021 6:39:55 AMOnly 1 way to do it correctly which is the way rogue company does it: -Crossplay mandatory -Input based matchmaking -PC banned unless you opt-in by inviting a pc player Apex almost does it perfectly but for some reason crossplay is optional even they follow the same input/pc rules stated above so there are players outside of crossplay for no reason. Cod is a disaster because it includes pc and it only prefers to match input, its not strict. Plus the queue/lag is rough and it constantly gives you the pop-up to re-enable crossplay.

6 RepliesWe need cross play now, it's the future of gaming

From what I read was recoil was increased to be closer to console users, emphasis on "closer" meaning those from PC will still have an edge even if small over console users. prepare to get smashed console users it would seem. mind you from what I've seen it's going to be a fusion rifle fest next season and auto rifle is almost obsolete
-
I just want input based matchmaking.

Edited by Púca: 1/29/2021 10:07:21 PMThere are already m&k players on console and I'd wager that some bright sparks have already figured a way to use aim bots and wall hacks on console already. PvP is on it's knees already and Bungie doesn't care. I would hazard a guess as to say; this could very well be Destiny's swan song.
-
1 Replyconsole crossplay sounds great, but PC? They already have huge advantages over console, giving them 10% more recoil (which will do effectively nothing) is not going to make PvP between the two fair
-
2 RepliesI'll just keep it off. Don't want to play PC cheaters, or any of the 8 year olds on Xbox. Having to wait slightly longer for MM is a small price to pay imo.
-
I still think crossplay between console and PC is a bad idea; no matter what kind of adjustments are made to the PC experience, they will always have an advantage. Bloom still won't exist on PC, traction on console (necessary mod for faster turns) will still be necessary to compete, controller input vs M&K input will always favor PC. I guess we'll see then
-
Death of Destiny on console in crucible.
-
i've seen pc players cheating in pve too. crossplay has to be an option period. end of story.
-
PvP still cheating I no think crossplay between PC and console ready but PvE
