We need to have factions returned to the game, but in the same way they are in D1. This would allow more gear to be obtained which would help with sunsetting. Also true vendor refreshes are NEEDED even more now that sunsetting has been implemented. Just a few simple ideas to help flatten the sunsetting curve.

Stop making words up. Con....tent? Is that what you said? Lololol. Too hard.

3 RepliesI miss factions. I think it would be cool if pledging to a faction opened story missions that coincided with that faction’s background. Let us fight for the cause.
We need to have factions returned to the game, but in the same way they are in D1.
Agreed! I loved D1 factions where I could have 1 character devoted to each. I did: Warlock - New Monarchy Titan - Future War Cult Hunter - Dead Orbit ....ahhh those were the days :)
-
I liked them for the fabric they added to the universe. NPCs from the actual City and a bit of political context made the game (and our efforts) feel more connected to humanity and its survival. And anything that they can add that gives our characters more identity (like pledging and repping a faction) would be welcome - because there’s nary a shred of “RP” in the RPG part of this game.
-
I hope factions come back but with a twist imo. Let the old groups be in the past and lets have new one's relevant to our current world. One idea I think would be cool is to have a: - Pyramid Faction: the pyramid on the moon now welcomes all gaurdians to enter and is a social space where you can craft weapons and armor, team up with others etc.
-
Both could return theoretically. If factions come back, they could be updated with a few weapons every year. Then during the seasons they could add one or two new weapons and have the rallies maybe once or twice a season. The rallies would come back as a way to make seasons seem less dull than they already are

3 Replies1. Factions 2. Gunsmith test weapons and arms day 3. Heroic strikes 4. Heroic daily mission 5. Menagerie/arena All need to be in the game.

Will be nice I miss dead orbit

3 RepliesEdited by NVMYGT: 1/31/2021 12:23:28 AMRemember in D1 when we got faction specific exotic class items that we could only wear when we were pledged to one of the 3 factions? I think they increased reputation earned for the faction while you completed activities.
-
They never will, but there are so many great ideas out there.
-
I’d be fine if they came back as bounty vendors if it meant we got Faction armor and weapons again. Hell, give each one an exotic quest and encourage people to play more than one character.
-
Part of the problem is that in current Destiny, Factions don't really serve a purpose anymore. Dead Orbit has no purpose when we can't "escape" the system any longer. New Monarchy is meaningless when there's no Speaker, the Vanguard don't step in ever, and the Traveler is actively sending visions to Crow and our Guardian (and our Guardian is pretty much doing everything themselves canonically anyway). Future War Cult, similarly, serves no function when "the future war" is now here at our doorstep. Bungie had their time to make factions useful and relevant and they blew it. Like most things with Destiny, it's a missed opportunity.
-
No way more grind for some ok rewards. It will never happen now. Bungie is in the process actives every season. Crimson data are gobe now and there will be more to follow.

Does transmog mean anything to you?

They could have a season that focuses on an old story thread that was hinted at in D1 with lysander and the concordat faction and bring back the factions as part of the seasonal story thread. At the end of the season, they could just become a permanent part of the game
-
How about bring back good ideas and rewarding gameplay?
-
Edited by Peloquinsoul: 1/29/2021 7:45:23 PMGod yes. It seems like such an easy win. Just faction up some existing weapon models and beef up the weapon selection with areas that are lacking. I honestly don't see how outside of the model design, weapon creation being that difficult. It's just distributing stat points, we do that in most rpgs. If we're going to have modifiers like match game, we could do with more options for load outs.

1 ReplyThey just removed the Faction currency I hardly think faction reward are in there mind at all.

1 ReplyMaking content is Hard bro. 🤣

Been asking for this for a very long time ( since the very first Faction rally, which I hated. I’ve hated all of the Faction Rallies ). Bungie doesn’t listen, and they do not care.

Been beating this drum for a long time, its one of those things that D1 undeniably did better and shouldnt have been cut out.

I agree, I find FWC fascinating and would definitely grind for faction exclusives. Even if its was only cosmetic.
-
The weapons are already there. Slap on some random rolls and dunzo. FWC for life!
-
Yup and make them available for season pass holders only so they can justify updating them every three months.
-
I think factions would definitely help if they brought their own exclusive seasonal challenges to the table as well, bounties too. Like for dead orbit, you could go around collecting nihilistic poetry from the hive or something.
