Am I the only person who thinks that gilded titles are stupid idea?
I'm sorry, but it's a stupid idea.
A gilded title isn't going to give me a reason to jump into a certain game mode,
I don't want to sound like an asshole but Ego boosting is not what the game needs. Want to know what would be better than a gilded title? Getting a reward that actually reflects the amount of effort that takes to get it instead we get a title that now comes with new choclate strange coin gold leaf wrappers might as well shout: "OH BOY, I GET TO FLEX MY E PEEN ON PEOPLE, I BET THEY THINK IM SO COOL WITH MY GILDED TITLE!", because thats all the people who play this game care about apparently *shrugs*
We need New LOOT, we need New PVP maps, and we need Bungie to actually make an effort to talk to us so we can get an actual conversation going that isn't one-sided.
Titles are no more than a glorified checklist for a merit badge no amount of gold leaf lettering is going to change that. No matter if its the common AF Dredgen title, Flawless or Conqueror. No normal person is going to look at these and say: "yeah i think this is a good way to spend developer time rather than expanded on the bland wasteland that is the cruci.... control the game mode, or providing us with actual new stuff to go after, Nah having an extra special glow around a pointless title just to give me a hollow self-esteem boost that won't impress anyone is just what i need!"
Look at what the community is asking for, ARE WE ASKING FOR GLOWING E PEENS?!
No, they asking For more things like umbral engrams that are coming back, they want new maps for pvp, new strikes, and new weapons and armor, and for you to get your brains out of the sand, Look at season of Forge (for quality inspiration) and Opulence, Dawn and Arrivals for loot drops.
Why season of the Forge when it came to quality, Let me put it this way, you are playing it WAY TO SAFE with weapons and armor lately, not to mention the number of drawbacks for ADEPT mods.
Get in touch with the community and make the game fun, people who think that titles and stats can gild their Lillies all they want, won't make the game any better for the rest of the people who actually care about the game.

Edit 1 "how seals could be made into something actually desirable": A thought just came to my mind when I made a response to Kelly, and I thought about why I did not like the seal system, and its because it gives no benefits, Imagine if gilding a seal gives you better rewards or additional rewards from the associated playlist while equipped.
It's a small reward, but the only kind of benefit you get is bragging rights rather than it giving you an actual boon as the seals should already do, gilding it should increase the effectiveness of that boon. I thought of this because of the actual amount of effort it takes to get these things, especially the PVP related ones.
If that were the case and if was applied to seals across the board It would increase the desire to actually gild them.

Gilded titles resetting after a season is a stupid idea, imo. Why bother chasing something the distinguish my character if it goes away after a couple of months? It's about as dumb as chasing after god rolls on weapons and armor when those will be obsolete after a couple of seasons...

2 Repliestitles are one of the only rewards left that are PERMENANT. gilded titles are a way for them to make people repeat the same shit they already do, even more. the funny thing is, seeing a player with a gilded title and 1400 season pass rank won't be admirable or cool, it's just embarrassing

Regardless, the majority of Destiny 2 players don't have even a single seal. I personally have Wayfarer, Dredgen, Warden(easiest by far) and will have Splintered after 2 more augments. Only missing a couple of triumphs from several others. Gilded titles seems.... weird? I'll have to wait and see. I don't want to bother with a temporary border around my titles. However, my biggest gripe with your post is the fact you want to downplay the accomplishment of getting those titles. So really, just swallow your jealousy of other players and stfu.

Nope, they just need to add more grindy nonsense to substitute actual content. Every dlc is bare minimum of content with alot of grind to make said content seem like its alot. Gilded titles is another one if luke smith's brainfarts.
