From what I can tell the nerf looks to be doing exactly what it said it was doing. The problem being that it was never much to begin with. From testing I’ve done from before the nerf, base damage of the crystal themselves is 84-46. The majority of the damage has always come from the base damage of crystals, not the fragment. Additionally, the behemoth super has always had additional damage resistance to shatter damage.

And reduced damage against unfrozen targets which it hasn't at all.

It would not surprise me if the addiction behavior specialist they consult(yea they have one) suggested its word usage.
