the harbinger mission, difficulty's definition of insanity.
i'm gonna be as brief as possible, i'm power 1265~ with matching damage types to break the shields, i have lament, default hawkmoon, almost every exotic, even the mods to stagger the champions, the works, even my armor is up to snuff. yet i just can't beat the harbinger mission solo to save my life.
i get to around wave 2 or 3 or something like that, then death, ad infinitum.
the thing is i'm aware that this is a challenge, but my god... having 3 champions, a sworm of at least 15 enemies that some of them can insta kill you with ranged spam attack tactics, all at the same time is a bit much... (not to mention that there's like no good cover as well.)
and before anything, no, i can't form a fireteam, i don't have friends that play this game, my guild is inactive from having other games to play, and frankly i don't trust LFG groups for a good reason.
in other words, i'm at a standstill... literally the only option i have is to give up and skip the rest of this season, and frankly put, i hate the mere idea of that.

The only thing that needs to change is that when you do the cistern bit with the champions it doesn’t reset your progress. I think that would be fair: Triumph for flawless, no reset for teams.

Lament is not a good choice in this mission because the enemies hit hard. You need to take your time through it. Remember there is no time limit

I did it with 3 randoms of LFG non of us were using mics we never wiped once

Stay off the ground in the horde mode sections The only thing that’s dangerous are the snipers. Learn where they spawn and take them out immediately when you hear the spawning sound . Use malfeasance or graviton lance with anti barrier mods

You just choose not to and make yourself a victim. Get a grip and reach out. Instead of lfg groups try looking on the clan recruitment threads and finding an active clan of likeminded players. You're complaining over nothing.

I solo'd it at 1283 on my Warlock. However, it was ridiculously tedious and not at all fun in any way. I decided that I wouldn't be doing that again on my other two characters. Yesterday I went in again with my Hunter, and my wife joined me with her 1277 Hunter. It was sooooo much easier with a second person that I couldn't believe it. We did it two ways, 1) I found a really good place for her to hide and not fight, just in case I died, so I wouldn't lose progress. 2) I put her in a high position and we worked on the snipers and champions from opposite sides of the arena so they couldn't hide from us. We got it done both ways. Also, she ran stasis and I ran golden gun (killing the solar captains from long range worked great with golden gun). She ran void scout rifle, I ran solar pulse, and we both ran Xenophage for the boss damage phase. Our biggest problem was her jumping. Getting her in there was a bit tough as she was having a hard time with some of the jumps. In the end though, it was fun because it was so much easier.

I am at 1290 and couldn't do it solo, find one person at minimum, some people are just better at this stuff which sucks and makes me mad but it is just the way it is.

3 RepliesAfter hearing about the mission and it’s difficultly I was actually quite excited for a challenge for once but no, 2 manned it with a random lfg dude that spent most of the boss fight dying in the jumping bit prior 😂 shits easy as usual lol

Find a group, dont always try to do the hardest missions while under leveled. It will make you mad, and you will complain. Get stronger or get help.

4 RepliesEdited by Oddball: 1/21/2021 2:13:54 AMIf you want to solo it I'd recommend being higher than 1265 power level. If you're having trouble in the reservoir champion encounter, stay up high. There are a couple of spots that shield you from below.

I made it to the final boss using seventh seraph auto, gnawing hunter, royal chase, for heavy was either falling guillotine or avalanche lmg...once I make it to the champion room I kept switching my special around to either jotuun or adored...and I camped up in the rafters raining down death until ammo runs were necessary...I recruited a clan mate for the last boss he basically just hid behind rocks staying alive. In the end it was worth it something new.

4 RepliesTry taking borealis and sitting back near the entrance to the final fight. The boss won't have good LOS on you, and you can pick off the adepts & knights in the ads phases. For the first fight, just stay up high.

2 RepliesI never cared about the solo challenges...I just want the loot lol. I installed destiny again, just to see this mission. Went to lfg and found others quickly. Got all three of my alts done and logged out.
