It’s seems to me problematic. I prob wouldn’t have spent any money if I knew there was a life span on the weapon. Yes I’m a sucker for spending money on cosmetics to begin with..but to me there is on principle a little bait and switch here even if not intended.

Ye, they're like 700BD, almost nothing.
-
1 ReplyIt depends doesn't it? I love destiny as a game (not the choices bungie are making in general) and thats why I poured my money into this game when I WANTED to support it, unfortunately I don't think thats the case anymore.
-
The topic isn’t “is it dumb to spend money on cosmetics” If you take time and breath in and read what I’m posting you could probably save yourself same time typing “I’d never buy cosmetics!”
-
1 Replyspend money on cosmetic is stupid,
-
Would never ever spend real money on anything from eververse!
-
Spending money on silver to buy things that have no actual impact on gameplay is one of the primary reasons we are where we are. Bungie has a lot more incentive to put it's resources toward making pretty emotes and skins to sell for silver than it does to generate actual content. They can SAY that they are using that money to generate content, that doesn't mean they are. Additionally, all of the emotes that you buy. skins, etc. could have been world drops, or drops as part of an achievement. That means they literally took content out of the game to be able to sell it to you for cash. That said, I am not implying it is necessarily the whale's fault he is so fat and blubbery and easy to harvest and make money off of. It is the whaler's responsibility to tend to the herd, lest it be wiped out.
-
1 ReplyShould you have wasted money on the cash shop, in my opinion? No. Should Bungie have screwed over everyone who has spent money on weapon ornaments in their cash shop? Also no.
-
Edited by Demon_XXVII: 1/19/2021 6:42:58 AMNo But then I don’t spend a single penny in Eververse (I’ve still got the ‘free’ silver from Forsaken) or on any micro-transactions Micro transactions are a toxic mould on gaming & ironically, not very micro A bloomin’ skin for a weapon shouldn’t cost the same as a (albeit) poor season!
-
No, because there would be no point
-
Nope, simple
-
Not just a sucker, but buying silver without it going towards game development makes the game lesser than it could be for you and every single other player in the world (including New Light'ers). Every ornament, etc... purchased through silver provides a massively larger margin than if Bungie poured more resources into game development. So the state of the game exists now as it is because players bought silver. (Not the ONLY factor, but a major one - Bungie learned they can make much more revenue with a higher profit margin with EV items, instead of *wasting* time/money making a better DLC BEFORE it is released)

4 RepliesI wouldn’t have spent money on a weapon period, the hell?! If you want to do that just go play warframe.
-
I wouldn't have spent money on cosmetics for legendary weapons period.
-
5 RepliesI would. Its the same as buying things in a game when you know that there will be a sequel of that game in a year.
-
5 RepliesApex prices are absurd, but at least your guns don't get destroyed with sunset. It's a different game though, I'm just pissed with this sunset concept.
-
No. But I did once, knowing it was being sunset. Only bright dust and FOMO. But heck no, generally
-
1 ReplyI also am a sucker for spending money on a legendary weapon ornament which is now sunset. Lesson learned, I will NEVER spend money at Eververse again!!!
-
Nah bro I never spend money on micro transactions especially to Bungie cuz it seems like with the bank they’re making they feel like they don’t need to do much work. I heard from an article that they made $300mil on shadowkeep just from micro transactions. It’s absurd I’m not giving them a cent unless it’s a dlc release which I’ll probably stop doing as well because I’m just tired man...

Edited by Griever: 1/17/2021 8:09:34 AMWhile I didn't spend money on them, I do believe that all of the weapons with skins should've been reprised first, especially the ones that were getting new skins after the announcement of sunsetting. Why bother making new skins for weapons like Bygones when the weapon was going to get sunsetted 1 or 2 seasons later? Not reprising those weapons or refunding us for them is no different from stealing from their players.
-
So Transmog for weapons? Yes...
-
Edited by TJ_Dot: 1/17/2021 2:36:08 PMThe game itself would have to be 100% free and in a muuuuuuch better state before I'd even consider buying silver. I honestly those $5 just for that one Festival of the Lost mark like 2 years ago. It's sunset now and it didn't even have the perks I could have wanted. At least the game was actually in a better place

I got the majority of mine when Bright Dust was actually available/came from dismantling most of the junk from Eververse Engrams. Still feel like I got robbed, lol. Especially in regards to the Gambit/Gambit Prime weapons.
-
1 ReplyI wish I could pin this at the top of the forums. Don’t spend money in Eververse. There’s more items available to buy than earn in game. What motivation does Bungie have to improve the game if they keep making so much money off Eververse?
-
I've been following the trend here. And for the first time Kelly Green is right. Bungie will not revert or reverse their stance on this. Bungie made their bed and they are sleeping on it. I don't like what they did to this game. But no matter how loud we shout, they will not change. Kelly Green is correct. We should leave. Quit the game. If you can't, then stay. But if you can quit, then quit the game. They will not change. You can shout. Or you can shout and quit. If not, then keep playing. But you'll be disappointed. I chose to quit.

That’s why they’re done making legendary weapon ornaments. They made them at a time that sunsetting hadn’t come up yet and once they decided to do sunsetting they said they’d stop selling ornaments like that. The last one we got was felwinters and that only had a season left in it. Strange they didn’t do legendary ornaments for our two season pass weapons though. I liked those
