Were you at the part of handing over the talisman to the statue?

I got there, clicked 'approach' she spoke, and then the quest had disappeared, I saw somewhere that you get a new quest but nothing else came

If you've handed over the talisman then you're on the secret part of the quest which doesn't give you a quest in your quest log. You should take a trip to four horn gulch, it's abit tolandy that way.
