Has someone who paid full price for D2 and all its expansions and seasons ,I don’t think it should be FTP,but Bungie made that decision, now it’s being used has an excuse But let’s not kid ourselves into thinking that’s what’s killing this game. There are a lot bigger reasons for D2s state right now. Sunsetting 70% of people’s inventory, and replacing it with 30% of new loot. Vaulting content that could have been updated and refreshed, like the forges and menagerie. Vaulting Raids that could have been put on a weekly legacy raid rotation. And these are decisions that Bungie made ,they are not a product of working remotely, which make no mistake is a big hurdle for all games being developed during the pandemic, look at Cyberpunk. But they should have considered there limitations when making all these decisions, don’t promise something you are not sure you can deliver. Warframe is a real FTP game with tons of loot and free expansions, and everything has an in-game path or a paid path. Digital Extremes doesn’t use FTP has an excuse not to update the game ,and they treat there free players equally has players who buy platinum -
1 ReplyFree to play but the game still hides all content behind annual expansions and season passes
-
pay to play ruined destiny 2, i hate people using stasis in crucible
-
Too me it's more the absence of seasonal targeted loot in free to play activities that is sad. If they added a unique gun you had to farm in pvp every season, I believe most of my friends would be there. Same goes for strikes. Bounties are best when you are progressing on several at once. And it can be part of the season pass if they need the budget. My second immediate thought is whether they could add a way to save one or a few of your guns from sunsetting somehow. If I could save my true prophecy or my perfect paradox, I'd play for it.
-
No, Bungie did.
-
Personally, I hate Stasis more.

The only thing F2P should have access to is the first mission of Beyond Light, basic crucible (no Trials or Iron Banner), and basic strikes. No Nightfall. No patrols. No exotic kiosk. No existing raids or dungeons. Should have reduced overall loot access too.
-
Yeah it kinda did I feel like it de-valued the whole game and everything we bought.
-
1 ReplyIt should never have been free to play...
-
14 RepliesSadly destiny is not free to play. Warframe is free to play and a great prime example at that. This game is just bungies pay to win game and nothing more
-
2 RepliesYep. Especially on PC on the cheating side. Before on Battle.net less cheaters, still cheating was a thing but Jesus its horrible now
-
There are no vendor refreshes because of f2p but can’t they just add premium content to the vendors that are greyed out to f2p. Is it really that hard?
-
Honestly, it's more like a Free Trial. A free trial that opens too many activities to freeloaders.
-
4 RepliesHow so? What is the basis for your belief/opinion? Or are you just parroting someone else’s thoughts? Personally I think free to play has no bearing on overall quality of the game save for two areas - making it easier to cheat in pc trials, and hurting investment motivation for long time players (making old content f2p and the introduction of the DCV works to invalidate future purchase since your licence can be taken away arbitrarily at any time and given away to others for free).
-
Freeloaders should have only had access to basic components of the game, patrols, story, basic strike playlist but anything involving pvp including Gambit should be for paying players. It would essentially remove the cheaters overnight. Or give them a bottom rung pvp experience with a separate freeloader playlist.

Edited by Dauntess: 1/13/2021 6:13:38 PMYou mean the extended demo? It just gave them an excuse for more paywalls that’s all.
-
Free to play, putting the game on PC, and Luke Smith are the 3 reasons this franchise has taken a nose dive.
-
Mainly the ppl that play for free have ruined it. I put these people in the same category as Xurners. Ewww gross 🤮 Real men earn their gear and pay their way 👍

8 RepliesBungies laziness and catering to casuals destroyed the game.

Greed killed this game, Bungie keeps dialing back how much they produce to see just how much they can get away with before they pull a "mea culpa" and say they're sorry and start creating more content. I mean really, compare the season of opulence to the season of Crow shits in a mop bucket. Same price tag. I mean I liked the storyline more than any I have in a long time, but actual content..... not even close.
-
1 ReplySorry, but there are great free to play games made with passion. Bungie doesn't look like they're making this game out of passion, only trying to rake as much money as they can with minimum effort
-
It somehow managed to disenfranchise the veterans and replace them with the soon-to-be disenfranchised. Remarkable.
-
7 RepliesNah my guy. Bungie ruined bungie. They can create one hell of a game but they sure as hell don't know how to manage one
-
I fear something worse may come. According to the data, something dark stirs in the depths of the Hellmouth. We can feel it. A Hive abomination bred for unthinkable evil. We must pierce the veil of their Summoning Pits and destroy this creature before the Hive unleash it upon us all.

10 RepliesFTP?!?! Lol, what is free to play in this game now? They F#&$÷d over the free to play players when Beyond Lite in content launched. Hell, rumors are rolling this game is headed to truly become an actually free to play game by LightFall.
