I doubt bungie will ever actually look at their own forums given how they seem to rarely address issues on here. That’s said this is an idea I have to alleviate the stasis issue in pvp. I’m not a pvp main but if this idea strikes anyone as good feel free to pester their Twitter about it.
For one the freeze mechanic itself needs to be gradual when it hits a player. Make it so that when it hits players the effect will slowly freeze them rather than instantly so they have time to react, or alternatively make it so only people with low health are frozen solid and full-ish health players are slower.
Secondly the effect for breaking out of stasis is absurd, the player shouldn’t be punished for successfully breaking out of the ice because then you may as well wait for death. If people have to be frozen instant or not then reward fast players for getting out of it with health and perhaps even an over shield.
Fixing just one of these issues would profoundly improve playing with and against stasis since it wouldn’t be as punishing to go against nor as easy to play.
Thirdly, buff warlocks. I’ll say off the bat I’m a warlock main and I actually agree we needed a nerf at launch. That being said the nerf was to much and neutered the subclass worse than nova warp. If the previous changes were implemented then warlocks wouldn’t be nearly as cancerous no pvp and so they could be buffed up slightly. Personally I’d say buff the melee range since it’s aoe and tracking have already been nerfed.
Finally shatter, if any of the prior advice were to be implemented than shatter wouldn’t be nearly as prevailing and thus wouldn’t need much changes. Balancing shatter damage is hard because it’s fundamental to the subclass so needing it isn’t necessarily the best course of action, or at least it would have to be more of an adjustment than a nerf.
Those were just some off the cuff ideas.
