WARNING! This account has a consistently unstable Internet connection that is affecting other players. If this continues, the account may be restricted from matchmaking against other players.

My internet connection is not the issue. Every other game I play on PS4 works perfectly. ONLY DESTINY gives me issues with gameplay. Why should I be penalized when it is evident across various forums that DESTINY has server issues? Today, Bungie decided to send me a warning, a LOYAL player since HALO! What kind of crap is this Bungie? My wife works for a Tech Company and uses the internet 5 days a week for the last 10 years to conduct business transactions ALL over the world...she never has issues. Xfinity tells me no problems on their end and my other devices work to perfection. BUNGIE you have a problem and sending a warning such as this, is an absolutely double standard. Hold your engineers accountable for the issues, don't penalize the little guy that spends $80 for a game that works 6 out of 10 times (rough estimate). After this and if I'm restricted from game play, I'll NEVER buy another Bungie game again AND I'll be sure to follow-up with Sony and the BBB to ensure they are aware Bungie is not able to deal with their tech blunder. Blaming my internet connection is a lazy/easy way out. I'm hoping Bungie realizes they should be more proactive about their issues rather than reactive and laying the blame on consumers is unacceptable. Show me tangible proof my internet connection is the issue then we can talk about sending warnings and restricting players.

  • Hey, it' s 2025 and after 10 years of playing this game and playing with the same network setup since I signed up with Verizon Wireless several years ago, I just got this message today. While it's obviously aimed at cheaters deliberately manipulating their connection for advantage, any human should be able to take one look at my PvP record and see that I'm not gaining any advantage from whatever instability supposedly exists on VERIZON'S 5G NETWORK. But having scoured the web, I suspect the message is simply auto-generated when someone else accuses you of cheating and chooses "network manipulation" as the method. If I'm correct about this then Bungie has essentially abdicated responsibility for monitoring cheating and left it up to other players to accuse each other, a system which is simultaneously useless and ripe for abuse. Literally any unhinged -blam!- could get everyone in his clan to report you for "network manipulation" and potentially get your account banned if there is some threshold at which they take action based on the number of such reports.

In order to prevent account restrictions due to a poor connection, you may want to go through the Network Troubleshooting Guide here. https://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Troubleshoot?oid=12915 There are multiple sub pages there that can help players with a variety of different issues.
