Armor mod is bad.

** Sorry for the broken English. I am a Korean and I translated in English because I really wanted to let Bungie know the serious problem. I started this game one month ago with my 4 friends, and now I am the only one who still plays this game. I and my friends really enjoyed this game, and purchased all DLCs. We searched many video clips and discussed regarding the powerful build. But finally we realized that we cannot follow the build because of armor mods. Yeah, we don't have any armor mods lol. And there was no way to get/farm armor mods in-game except only 2 mods what Banshee sells. (of course, he always sells the mods what I already have...) This is really bad to newbies. Newbies are weak and has no good weapons, armors, and also has no mods. We felt discrimination between newbies and oldbies. Bungie, please be aware that the mod system is really bad for now. And it makes newbies quit this game. I already lost my 4 friends in game. And I am losing my interests too, because I cannot try to make a new build, even though I collected almost Hunter's armors... Is this intended??? [spoiler]Moderator edit: This thread has been updated with tags that are more appropriate.

      • My buddy from work started the free to play and then bought all the content, told him to use hc loader on his arms after we got him ace of spades. He had no mods at all. Only the mods from artifact 🤦‍♂️. Does anyone know how to get the basic mods, ammo finders, reserves, reloaders, scavengers etc. If those are only available from banshee then that is a far bigger problem than not having charged with light or warmind mods. The basic mods are the most used.

Hmm I was actually talking to a buddy about this yesterday. We absolutely need a more reliable way to farm mods. Pretty much any build at the very least requires scavenger mods and even the basic mods are a pain in the ass for new players to obtain. Don't even get me started on the warmind and charged with light mods. Just sit and pray banshee sells them one day. I recently had my brother start playing and he lost interest for the same reason, he couldn't even get a build going after several weeks cause he never had the mods needed.

        • Seasonal artifact has the most useful mods. Banshee sells some, but you also get them from basically everything else. In fact, if you are just playing for free and refuse to buy the current content then you aren't helping the game at all anyway, so leaving is no great loss. Ftp is (obviously) intended as a free trial. If you find the gameplay fun you invest in the franchise. If you don't, you leave. Not sure why today's youth doesn't understand that. Would you take a free sample at Starbucks and then say"yeah, I like that! Give me a full size one... this is my new daily drink!" "$5.95 please." "What!!! How dare you let me try something I might like and then not keep giving it to me for free! You just lost my business!"

        • Besides charged with light and warmind cell mods.....you can turn in tokens to the tower vendors for armor mods.

        • The fun is not ending when you find the most useful mods. Then you need the correct element for some types of mods and some mods need armor from previous seasons to even work. Some mods only work inside special activities. And you need to play for months to find the most useful you see in Youtube vidoes and there is a good chance, the mod is completely unavailable now. This is exactly how a casual aimed Game should be like lol. I had a mate trying out the Game last month and after I started explaining the armor and mod system, he uninstalled it and said "i just want to shoot a few enemies in the face in the evening and not study in Harvard". Although he was exaggerating a bit, there was some Truth to that. If Bungie wants players to experiment with builds, the availability and usage of the mods should be redesigned.

          • Yup the acquisition of Charged With Light and Warmind Cell mods are pitiful. Upvote!

          • Turn in tokens to vendors. Like crucible, strike and IB tokens. That's the fastest way to obtain more mods.

          • The new lights understand how armor works, so it's not like bungie thinks their dumb, it's just bungie being stingy with loot...

I'm an old timer and I can definitely see it because I brought 7 new people and they practically started with nothing not really helpful. Bungie kinda expected the old guys to guide the new players but didn't factor how a game community is versus how it should be. You can get some mods from doing a couple ordeal strikes and banshee as well. The real loss is the weapon mods like rampage spec or radar booster from the black armory. I'm on pc but don't mind helping people out it will be a good good break from pvp.

            • 1. This is better off in the d2 subforum. 2. Yeah, I think armor mods should be made more available.
