The number of enemies that easily sidestep a tracking rocket is infuriating. Take any non Exotic rocket launcher into any playlist and count the number of rockets that combatants casually dodge over and over.

4 RepliesHeres a tip. The lower the velocity on your rocket launcher, the better the tracking

1 ReplyEdited by Kiro - 13: 1/10/2021 7:25:33 PMif the legendary rocket launcher perk for tracking worked as you say. it would make the exotic rocket launchers even less impressive then they already are. Truth, Wardcliff, Eyes all do what you ask/want but then all these weapons have a perk slot commited to a "improved tracker" type perk. Bungie is fully aware and want rocket launcher to suck. If you are actually using a legendary rocket launcher in a main character load out you are a blueberry.

They just need grenades and horseshoes, back in D1, any rocket with grenade and horseshoes was automatically a god roll.

Ya'lls rockets track? I was using bad omens with tracking module in gambit and it just didn't even try to turn towards an invader.

Edited by Sweet Lew 88: 1/11/2021 1:28:16 AMIf you want a pvp rocket, doesn't get much better than truth. Especially with grenades and horseshoe. Just know if you chose a legendary, it's not going to be amazing.

Less velocity = better tracking. Try it sometime.

1 ReplyI love when Knights spin dodge my rockets. Or when Brigs pull a Titanfall maneuver on my rockets 😡
-
4 RepliesYou just do kot lnow how it works. My bad omens is my main heavy since it was introduced into Destiny
-
7 RepliesThe tracking has been dog shit since D2 launched and I've -blam!- about it ever since. Bungo doesn't give a -blam!-. Shut up, buy silver.

Some enemies have specific dodges for Rockets (those Fallen Brigs on Europa, for instance). In those cases, you have to adapt your timing. Wait for the enemy to be attacking or focused on a different target, THEN launch. Also, remember that tracking rockets do better with lower velocity, not higher. Otherwise it’s likely to move too fast to actually turn and connect with even a slowly moving target. I kind of chuckle when an enemy actually evades a rocket direct hit. Just kind of a “you son-of-a-gun” feeling.

What needs a major buff is our efforts on mars because the Dust Palace is lost to us again. Back in Cabal hands. Word is they've let Psion Flayers out of their cages, to dig around in the Central AI's Cortex. Which means they really want what's buried in there. If Rasputin was protecting it, it's valuable. We've got to flush those Flayers out.

2 RepliesIt is totally stupid. They can buff a rocket launcher by 1000% damage, but if it doesn't hit target, it may just as well be shooting pillows. Same applies to other Tracking weapons, like Jotun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzIdrtLeLaQ

No need All rocket launcher need buff
-
I mean you don't need tracking if you have massive blast radius and clusterbombs, just sayin.....
-
2 RepliesSame thing happens to EoT It works based off the red trackers it puts If ANY enemy teleports it breaks the tracking so No Vex No servitors No captains Anything that teleports How come they can get enemy teleports to work so fine but cant get blink to properly “teleport” warlocks (you can shoot the path they travel and still damage them)
-
Rockets need some love in general. They need a buff in every way imaginable. And make one cause a lingering lightning storm that’ll be cool.
-
Especially those darn Fallen Captains. Aim, pull the trigger and...... Voop! -blam!- teleports to the left. I skip the tracking and fire at the ground right in front of them (Jump up first) and that, usually, gets them.
-
1 ReplyPart of the issue is that the velocity is too high for what they designed for the tracking. This is what they called “balance.” Just like what they did to Cluster Bombs. If they wanted to tone down the blast radius a bit they could easily buff the tracking. As it is now the best way to get it to work is whipping it up and letting the tracking make the rocket go downward.
