It’s bad enough that it costs 3 ascendant shards to masterwork an exotic armor piece but if you want to change the elemental affinity it costs ANOTHER 3?!????!! Either that or get rid of mods that require elemental affinity it’s too confusing and costly to create builds. Charged with light, warmind cells, elemental protection mods to use are all good ideas. What’s not good is when I can’t use them because my armor is the wrong elemental affinity.

i got screwed over when the moved the elemental mods around so now for impact conduction i need to change affinity but it costs the same as fully masterworking an exotic all over again

1 ReplyEdited by mercuryserver: 1/12/2021 8:53:35 AMGood luck with your plea. You talk to a company who claimed to have heard the complaints 2 Years ago when players moaned about the core economy. As a result, they introduced the Banshee daily quests. Then, after the problem was resolved, they introduced Prisms and Ascendent Shards ON TOP of the ever not appreciated currency for Upgrades. And made both ressources more rare than cores have ever been before. Lessons learned? I don't think so. To raise my artifact Level, I took a lot of additonal bounties which drained my Glimmer. Quite often, I stood there and was only able to adapt half of my gear for the nect activity because I was broke lol. The costs for trying out different builds and for people who play with three characters using different setups, are ridiculous.

1 ReplyOr...remove elemental affinity.

Edited by T_rar: 1/10/2021 11:35:57 PMNo one wants elemental affinity. Bungie has cited it is like that due to the way their mods are programed. Too many mods available on one piece of armor causes problems. If that's actually true players should NOT be punished for their lack of skill / foresight / whatever you want to call it. Should cost nothing to change affinity.

1 ReplyDude, Destiny is dead. Nothing make sense! Never played a game before that would put me in a bad mood like Destiny did, and I've been gaming for 30 years. It's ok to move on.
-
We're listening, we will now upgrade the cost to 5 chards.......
-
Honestly it shouldnt cost a thing after the investment. Would allow people to experiment more.

2 RepliesEdited by MNN8TV: 1/11/2021 3:48:32 AMThe armor as a whole needs reworking. Right now trying to keep acceptable armor maintained and ready is my biggest chore. Especially when something like beyond light happens and all the mods change. I now have a set I don’t know what to do with because half the mods I was using are gone. That I masterworked btw. And yea I can get more shards. Not that hard. Just expensive and time consuming if it’s not from double reward grandmasters.

6 RepliesIt should be free and masterworking should only require like 50 legendary shards. I should be able to easily earn the mats to masterwork everything I own. Strikes, gambit, crucible, daily story mission, nightmare hunts, nightfalls all should have the ability to drop the rarest materials for upgrading. But no bungie wants you to play the activities they put those materials behind. Been playing years and when susetting happened I deleted 70% of my vault and guess what? I lost over 150 prisms to the post master 🤣 Materials are that hard to earn that for the first time in years I found out that you can only hold 50 prisms. This game -blam!-ing sucks in so many ways. Every expansion pushes me away a little more every time. I guess that's why I have a material issue because I play less and less each expansion.

Totally agree, they changed around a bunch of mods i had socketed on my main loadout last season, moved a few mods i wanted from the titan mark to the leg socket. Then i couldn't re-equip them since the legs were a different element to the mark. I ended up just using the seasonal set and masterworking that instead with the mod loudout i had before.

Agree
-
Fully agree 100%. Smh its so stupid, id rather farm a similar roll AGAIN, then reset it at 1, then upgrade it. Such a ridiculous system
-
I used to think it was a steep price but it kindve made sense, but now with sunsetting being a thing - it's way too expensive. Especially if you're only talking about rerolling the elemental affinity. Should cost... 50 legendary sharts, max. Maybe a prism or two if it's exotic.
-
4 RepliesThat's why you buy three of them when xur brings them around
-
1 ReplyIt's funny how you guys think asking them to change the cost for anything on this game will change anything knowing it's literally working as intended.
-
Now that half the mods in the game have been removed (a good move if you ask me) not even a need for the elemental affinity at all. The only reason it was there was because there were too many mods and it woukdve been too cluttered and difficult to manage if they were all grouped together. Now that problem is solved so there absolutely no need for the affinity anymore.
-
3 Repliesditch elemental affinity all together.
-
Remove so called "elemental" restrictions altogether. Another stupid and greedy company decision.
-
4 RepliesEdited by PhantomBrown: 1/10/2021 2:50:19 AMEverything in general is too expensive. Sunsetting shows that weakness.
-
They should just get rid of the elemental affinity or make changing it free already. With sunsetting forcing you to masterwork new armor its just dumb
-
Especially looking at exotics. Way too cost prohibitive.
-
Given that they sunset armor for no reason whatsoever the cost should be 0
-
They don't give a fudge.

I was pleased when they first said that they were removing elemental affinity at first. I thought it would mean I could clear some armour sets from my vault and actually have some space at last. But then as I started thinking through their wording - "weapon mods" - I realised it didn't help at all if I wanted to experiment with Charged with Light/Warmind Cells etc. Honestly wish they would scrap the affinity entirely as ultimately it just puts me off building good sets and experimenting. No doubt the intention was to make more grind so that people will play more but in practice it limits options and makes me play less.

5 RepliesSee, I’ve circumvented this problem by having 9 sets of masterwork armor per armor slot, 3 for each affinity with different stat distributions. All made possible by double loot nightfalls
