If you look at his legs, he’s wearing the Strides of the Great Hunt which is the Hunter version boots you get from Last Wish. This would mean Shaw Han either has a pair of them all the way back when the Great Hunt took place or he was apart of the fireteams that stormed the Dreaming City. He also has Young Ahamkara’s Spine exotic gauntlets so this further adds a bit more truth to this idea. If any of this is true, then it brings up the point why he can’t kill some Hive. This would make me go with the idea that he partook in the Great Hunt and not in Last Wish. Because of him being in the Great Hunt, it would mean he’s probably been exiled out of the tower for keeping ornaments of Ahamkaras after the hunt and lived in the Coamodrome, doing nothing until now and relying purely on memory and experience to help him survive.

1 ReplyI don’t think he would have been exiled for keeping ornaments, Shaxx has a whole Ahamkara skull right above him.

Shaw Yawn is a boring plank of wood with a smattering of armor that has no rhyme or reason. Just because he has Last Wish armor doesn't mean he's actually fought an Ahamkara. My disappointment at his inclusion in the Dawning was immeasurable.

Anyone can put in a wish at the wall and get free raid armor ,and he bought the young amahnkaras spine from Xur Shaw Han is a noob and shouldn’t be telling new players what to do when he probably barely knows his self I -
Remnants of the ahamkara are system wide. There's old lore supporting people who found them. Also, Shaw Han operates with the vanguard. Therefore is similar status to Shiro-4. He has no reason to hide.

Not necessarily, we had Ahamkara items in D1

It would be neat if Shaw was actually adept in Ahamkara knowledge even if he sucks at fighting Hive. Could actually make him useful for beyond the New Light campaign.
