Just remove PvP from Destiny 2.
Make PvP a separate application or game.
That way it can be better balanced without affecting the PvE community.
And PvP players can get whatever they want.
Problem solved.
Then just add new PvE content in place of the missing PvP section in the main game. Easy.
Then leave Destiny 2 as a PvE focus. Destiny Crucible (be the external application or game) as the PvP experience. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

If they had a dedicated team working on this. I’d be all for it. Not having separate balancing (pve, pvp) has been killing this game since it’s inception.
-
11 RepliesIf destiny 2 became pve only it would die a very fast death.

10 RepliesI just watched True Vanguards video, and it is so out of touch and so self-serving..... ....that I’m starting to agree. Pve and pvp in this game need a divorce. This is not working, and pve in this game will never reach its potential while its having to drag pvp behind it..... ....and pvp has veto power over ever aspect of the game. I will never understand why people play this game and expect it’s pvp to play like Halo.

2 RepliesOr just slap Armsmaster modifier from prestige leviathan on certain end game PvP modes. People can't use full meta loadouts if a modifier restricts certain guns from being used randomly.
-
2 RepliesAs a PVP player I’m actually down for this. The PVP in this game has had the potential to be the best out of any game I’ve played but it’s always been held back by PVE and P2P connections. Just give us dedicated servers and a bit of balance and your looking at a winning formula Bungie. #makeithappen!

Then just add new PvE content in place of the missing PvP section in the main game. Easy.
Can we at least stop pretending like they just push a button and this stuff is "easy." Just flick a switch and PvP is replaced by awesome PvE content as if it was actually getting in the way of that in the first place? Its not easy to do or for people to figure out what should be done with PvP. If you want the easy way out then perhaps a game this complicated is not for you. Just a thought. You can also achieve a similar effect by not clicking on the PvP icon in the director.

1 ReplyOr the losers can stop playing a power fantasy game expecting CoD limitations. People actually proposed at one point a destiny mode once with no supers, abilities, grenades, and no heavy. Thats litteraly just a crappy CoD. Everything the crybabies ask for is in another game but they hate CoD or battlefield because of the lack of design, choice, options, and overall feel yet hate destiny for being the what those gsmes are not. I am happy with pvp the babies just need to be ignored.

everybody wants the sandboxes to be separated, the game doesn't need to be split for this to happen
-
11 RepliesBungie limits PvE power fantasy regardless if pvp is here or not. this whole idea of pvp being gone and thinking pve will be better is... laughable. they also don’t like making content. stop trying to blame pvp for why this game is ass.
-
2 RepliesThe game would die before you know it. Removing PVP would be a huge mistake. If they fix PVP, that would breathe so much life into the game more so than any vapid pve content they keep sprinkling out. They just need separate balance patches for pve and pvp.

4 RepliesEdited by Facelauss: 1/7/2021 7:29:34 PMYeah nothing like alienating and getting rid of a large portion of the player base, great idea! Definitely won’t hurt the game at all! Oh wait, yeah it will, I hope you’re as sarcastic as I just was because it’s a stupid idea. Destiny is destiny because it has both.
-
I think there’s this common misconception that the pvp player base is small enough to do this. There’s a lot of pvp players who’ve put pve time into the game that wouldn’t be happy with this and the main pvp base is actually a lot closer to the pve player base than people think. Seperate sandboxes? Yes Seperate games? (Essentially you’re saying like warzone here with call of duty)? No

1 ReplyHonestly yes. Bungie is capable of making really smooth pvp shooter gameplay. I think they would totally benefit from capitalizing on this, and making a separate game could really help achieve the focus of Destiny while also keeping a large portion of their fan base at peace Think of the Unreal Tournament games for players who loved quake pvp
-
I don’t think it’s fair for someone with not even 9k kills to tell bungie to get rid of a part of the game that other people love.
-
22 RepliesNo need for seperate applications. Bungie can balance pve and pvp seperately, they just choose not to.
-
Honestly, yeah

Edited by Z3N-me: 1/7/2021 4:57:56 PMHow about having weapons you can only earn and use in pvp? Pvp specific weapons that will never encroach on pve. Pvp grind for that god roll hand cannon, shotgun etc

Edited by TJ_Dot: 1/7/2021 2:36:49 AMThe closest thing to what you'd have to expect then is something more akin to what CoD is doing these days with the campaign, coop, and MP being separate enough to where you can uninstall parts of them or the varying Halo games in the Master Chief Collection. Thing is, Destiny 2 was not built for this and has PvP and PvE interactions intertwined too much for it to function as separate installs. You're left with issues of what to even take out. Maps? Then something like the Devil's Ruin quest wouldn't be possible without PvP, as Twilight Gap is a PvP map. Different sandboxes and item behavior isn't justifiable of a completely separate application that would essentially break the seamlessness of jumping between PvP and PvE. Why you'd even suggest this is beyond me. It is not that simple, and your ignorance around your request is largely showing.

Why would they do that when they can cash cow on addicts without spending a dime?
-
3 RepliesStop trying to ruin destiny 2 just leave the game if you think that.
-
No that will still make it even worse
-
Nah not needed , if they just keep ignoring pvp like they been the problem will just go away by itself ,,,,, bit like sunsetting, you know space magic man
-
oh you pissed a lot of cavemen off with this one
-
As boring and lame as PvP is, it’s kinda important.

2 RepliesDOWNVOTE Go play another game buddy. Removing a fun but also stress- inducing activity will screw up everything. PvE is much worse in my opinion Uninstall if you actually think this would work.
