Rocket launchers were a very viable weapon in destiny 1 because they had great ad clear and dealt good boss damage which makes sense considering your shooting rockets obviously, but in destiny 2 after the shadow keep changes to autoloading rockets are now horrible for boss damage (mainly raid bosses) even exotic ones and there is no point of using them for ad clear when warmind cells exist. If rockets get a buff or we get rid of this oversafe rocket nerf to bosses which make no sense when they wouldn't even break the game if they weren't receiving the nerf they would only be good and then exotic ones would exceed. When I use my eyes of tomorrow on a raid boss it shouldn't be doing lower dps than a good rolled legendary sniper . I played through destiny 1 recently and i noticed that it would be worth using rockets because warmind cells and all this crazy ad clear didn't exist. So power crepe has already killed the thing bungie is forcing rockets to be used for which is ad clear, so why not make them stronger against bosses?

To my knowledge the -70% only applies on Wardcliff coil, Eyes of Tomorrow at -33%, and legendary rockets actually do +20% more to bosses. Rockets in general do need a buff but I'm pretty sure the Wardcliff Coil and EoT damage reduction is intentional given how they most likely code in volley type rocket launchers, making every single rocket in a volley a normal rocket doing full damage and then reducing the overall damage to compensate, though volley rockets should do higher DPS than regular rockets anyway. So yes buff rockets and reduce the damage penalty on both volley rockets, I feel like -60% would be a good place to start on Wardcliff and -24% on EoT would be fine to make them competitive damage options but not the absolute best to leave room for other weapons, unlike a certain sword right now...

Theyre too busy figuring out the next way theyre gonna scam their playerbase

1 ReplyHeavy weapons should be op, they are heavy. They're not your dad's 9mm these are weapons built for heavy lifting and should deal more damage. The ammo bricks are infrequent to offset the damage output of these weapons but as of late most of them get outperformed by weapons that aren't even in the heavy slot.

Look alright to me against bosses -
5 RepliesI tried using that new Subzero Salvo. What a major disappointment. It's crap. Rocket launchers are so weak in PvE. I'm back to using a sword now.

Rockets should hold 2 in the tube as a bare minimum and need to do more damage in both pve and pvp. They also need more blast radius add 3 meters where it does max damage. I'd also like to see grenades and horse shoes make a come back but have them decrease blast radius to the current radius when using grenades and horse shoes.

3 RepliesI like to eat my power crepe at sunset.
i agree about rockets btw
Big deal, if it wiped every boss things would get boring fast. It's a fantastic weapon that's fun to use. It goes boom the best.

1 ReplySo you want shank burn back on rocket launchers

I legit don't think I've used a rocket launcher since Beyond Light dropped, and I have a cluster bomb/tracking module bad omens.

It's not the point of which the buff ensues. I presume your using it on Atraks mostly rather than Taniks. Atraks is simply not an actual boss. As you probably know, there are 8 replications but how can you configure which is the real one? The answer is the one outside the map that you can only get to through cheesing through the door using salvations grip and thundercrash. (Which will probably be patched again soon). Now, the one outside is the actual boss to the encounter so when you use eyes of tomorrow there is 2 things very different in the encounter. 1. When using the eyes of tomorrow on the cheesed boss, the 50% damage reduction takes an effect because it is the boss. 2. Comparing that with the replications we all know there are 3 types of enemies. Minors (Red bars) Majors (Yellow bars) and Bosses (Big yellow bars), but in terms of atraks' replications, they are technically a 4th boss which we could probably name ultras. Now when using eyes of tomorrow on the replications, even though it doesn't do satisfactory damage, it actually does 2x the damage compared to the boss enlisted in point 1. Specifically due to the replication being an ultra, not a boss.

39 RepliesIdk the DSC exotic Rocket is pretty nasty. But I'm inclined to agree that rockets need a buff. The DSC exotic requires 4 kills for it's buff to kick in.......but you can slap a charged with light buff ontop and oh mama you got a decent RPG. For the record I've used it against taniks in the raid. It's not awful but it's not exceptional either.

You’re gonna get warmind cells nerfed with your rant.

+1 for me rockets need to be good again.

6 RepliesTbh.. the "Play how you want" died out a long time ago. Theyve been really bloody controlling on our gear lately. Doubt Bungie will even consider changing.
-
2 RepliesWait......... we have rocket launchers?
-
Is this really what you want them to fix? Buff rocket launchers OR improve the boring loot pool OR make the content more fun. Rocket launcher buff can wait. Let’s make the game actually fun before we tune 1 boring weapon class that holds a maximum of 8 shells (last I checked).

24 RepliesIDK Bad Omens with cluster bomb does quite well for me. Why would you use a rocket launcher and not something like Lament or Falling Guillotine?

18 RepliesEdited by PremneumLawnGuy: 1/6/2021 5:52:40 PMNo! Rocket launchers are super op. Deathbringer is the worst, it spawns a nova bomb without a super.

1 ReplyRockets should be the most powerful weapons in the game, hence there are only 6 in reserves. It’s sad because I strictly use 5, maybe 6 weapons for my heavy depending on the situation, none of which are rockets. And yes, in D1 rockets were great and fun to use. Fun, are we allowed Bungie?

10 RepliesEdited by Yosemite Sam: 1/6/2021 12:26:55 AMPersonally, I think this overcontrolling how weapons perform in this game has gotten out of hand. Bungie needs to stop this and let the player base have some fun. I have never seen any company be so controlling as much as Bungie actually has this last entire year. What, you are having fun using that weapon, hold my beer.
