"Double Tap-B to Break" More like Spam it and get Lucky
The Frozen affect on Guardians is annoying, and I understand why it's there because of Stasis being Ice and all that. But when an Icon tells you "Double Tap to Break" and you're spamming the damn B button and you're still frozen for a few more seconds it's annoying.
If there is a small gap of time from when you're frozen to where you can break free it should have a timer telling you so you're not just spamming the button.

Edited by Night_Fury147: 1/20/2021 1:52:12 PMThere’s no point trying to break out when you’re frozen in Crucible. Basically, once you’re frozen you’re guaranteed to die within a few seconds. Either by the one who froze you, or one of their teammates. And even if you do manage to break out, you’re put into critical health (unless you have your resilience maxed out) so you’ll die pretty much instantly anyway.

You thaw pretty quick with any melee ability casted by the 3 classes, but the Grenades freeze you for a longer period of time. The way I found breaking out to be quite faster than normal was anticipating the freeze and holding B asap.. sometimes I break out right away, sometimes I don’t You also could break out by casting your super (without pressing B) and it’s rather instant Another one (idk if this is a glitch) but I was on my warlock wielding my sword and I broke out of a freeze effect by swinging

There needs to be a little circle around the action button (like we have for interact or revive) that shows the progress you're making every time you press the button.

After the billionth time I ended up pressing [i][ESC][/i] and then choosing exit to desktop. Now I find it's the best option all round.

It should auto trigger. Why would I want to stay frozen? In pvp Only supers should be able to freeze, while everything else slows. If you’re in your super you should only be slowed.

Try to hold the button down on the second tap. Tap , tap and hold .

3 RepliesIt's just broken trash. It simply does not work properly. And to make it even stupider, Bungie makes the button presses different for Titans, Warlocks and Hunters (i.e. Tap versus Hold). Clearly they didn't play test this - likely Lukey Boy did all their testing for them as they threw money at the screen..

You should also be able to start breaking out midair

the ui for this is incomplete and super broken, especially on hunters. it prompts you to do an action, gives you zero feedback whether it worked or not, and then usually just doesn't work anyways. this would be a must-fix bug in most studios.

(You probably died) It’s too slow + More punishing if you do = You can’t escape or survive unless your opponent gives you time to break free before easily finishing you off If anyone thinks this is a “good mechanic” for a PvP game has Stockholm syndrome for stasis.

7 RepliesWhat else is annoying is the fact that they did that to the hunter and the Titan & Warlock just have to hold the button to break free instead of double tap🙄. Why the hell are they not the same mechanic across all three characters ?

It's not immediate, it just starts breaking you out of being frozen faster than if you let yourself thaw out without pressing any buttons.

Well, if you ARE frozen, theres very little chance you'll survive anyway.
