I met a new player and decided to help him out. This is some 3rd grader. We did the new light missions then I took him I to private matches because we were going to go into control for the new light quest from shaxx. I tried to see what I can do to improve his aim, teach him about awareness, what job each type of weapon has and how they are used, ect.
We then decided to go into control after 2 private matches. Out of all 3 matches, he got aggressively tbagged each one. And on the 3rd on, he got a message along the lines of "you cant even play the game. That's why in bagging. Just uninstall". What. The. F***. I don't have words to describe how pissed I was.
What the f*** is wrong with this community🤦♂️
This all around is just completely messed up. I feel bad for the kid. He was actually having fun with the game. I'm disappointed in this community. We have stooped so low to a point I didnt think we could get to. This is not how new players should be treated. In fact, this ain't how people in general should be treated. How is this acceptable?
Edit: Forgot to mention this because I just went to bed after writing this but I had already informed him about crucible not really being fun and it being toxic. When he did get bagged, he told me he was going to bag them back and I said not to. I told him to not stoop to their level. He then told me to go 1v1 them and I said no because I'm not going to that far and waste my time on some bozo with an ego. I never really do 1v1s in the first place because I find it a waste of time unless its with my buddy's for funsies and we do stupid stuff or I'm trying to help a new player like that kid.
I already had him block the one who messaged him and told him to ignore people like that because they may feel good about themselves. But in reality, they are making themselves look extreamly stupid and that they have the mental capacity of a zucchini. The kid didnt seem bothered much and was ignoring it which is good, but I can't stand by and let that s*** slide. Especially if I'm the one helping him. Because it's still messed up no matter how you look at it.
Edit 2: Some of you are missing the point. Yes, the kid is a 3rd grader. No, I'm not his parent. I didnt give him the ok to play a game at the age he isnt supposed to. And if I had a kid, I most likely wouldn't let them play the game at his age either in the first place, or at least without my supervision. But its 2020 and heading into 2021, people are -blam!-. I'm not angry at the fact that he is a kid experiencing this. I'm angry that new players in general are being treated in a similar manner. I've seen a good chunk of new players on the forums and in the game getting treated like garbage. That's why I'm writing about this.

Edited by Olórin: 1/1/2021 3:16:03 AMTeabagging used to be fun in a competitive sense (Halo 2/3 and similar games) but the way some people teabag out of pure toxicity and sheer pettiness with such a serious mindset only makes me think they are the ones tilted without any reason to be so. Sad how some of these players aren't even children or teenagers but are actually fully grown adults acting like this. Edit: Literally a few hours ago i had a couole games with a three stack of flawless guys on the enemy team sweat it out. They would teabag even though i had the best score on my team lol didn't once teabag since i dont see casual games as a reason to shit on someones experience in the crucible, some people are salty towards players just because they're hard to kill.

That sucks but you run into all types in Destiny, A lot of really rude kids and some really impatient and unkind young adults. luckily there does exist good peeps too.
-
2 RepliesGood on ya for helping the kid out. Not a lot of people would’ve done that
-
Welcome to the internet?
-
They are just pathetic people who think they are elite and forget they were once new players, ignore the r-soles and get on with ur game, dont let the plonkers spoil it for you.
-
Bagging is whatever, it’s just dumb. But these dudes sending messages to ppl just know that their mom missed an opportunity to swallow. Unwanted and unloved so they try to spread their misery to others.

3 RepliesEdited by BegFourMercy: 12/31/2020 4:33:19 PMPvp players are the worst type of people. Pve people like to help. Pvp think they are elite by using op builds on noobs or people just trying to complete a quest step. Oh, I forgot to mention they also cheat with molded controllers.

Unfortunately this is nothing new and isn’t exclusive to the Destiny community. This is common behavior across gaming as a whole, especially true in competitive titles.
-
this is why skill based matchmaking desperately needs to be put back in. the only people who whined about it where the really good people and the streamers who couldn't get good content b/c they actually had to fight people who were nearly 'as good' as them
-
Much like some of the answers here, it shows just how bad/sad some humans are.
-
Whether you're new or not people are going to taunt in Crucible... I feel that its dumb to TBag when you have emotes available but people are going to do what they do.
-
I've been killed by newbies in the crucible. That's how bad I am at it 🤣
-
6 RepliesYour mistake was going into the crucible 😂
-
You missed the most important lesson when going into crucible, turn messages off. It's nothing unique to Destiny to get messages shit talking, and whilst there really is no excuse for that kind of behaviour, it's easily removed.

2 RepliesBagging is fun
-
bruh imagine tbagging and sending hate mail in DESTINY PVP lmao This is like calling someone trash because they are bad at being a trash collector in the filthiest city in the world
-
the only time i bag is if they bagged me first, after the other team bags me i crank you say run on full volume in my surround sound (actually helps you win in trials) and usually get a 50 streak pretty easy, you should try it
-
Dude I get hate msg when I do really good. It's a 2 way street like real life. Some people are a-holes and some aren't.
-
Everyone gets hate mail, I have fun with them In any online environment you are going to run into toxic and mean people ,it’s unavoidable, the best lesson they can learn is if you ignore them or show them what they are doing doesn’t phase you in the least, you win

4 RepliesWhen will people understand, you can only be bullied if you allow it.

Garbage in, garbage out.
-
You are not wrong, the hardcore player base is like a cult
-
It's a good time to teach them another lesson. It sucks that people can be so toxic, but as long as they exist, you will have to prepare the little one for that, and teach em not to become toxic waste.
-
5th graders can be kinda mean. Just tell him to block them and move on. That is life. You have to block the negative people out of it. Especially wives...they can be the most vicious but that is a different story.

Edited by an Ape with a d2 addiction: 12/31/2020 11:19:36 AMUnfortunately every pvp FPS I've played has had a lotta asshats in it. Lotta great folks too. Across all skill brackets. Guessing it just comes with the territory with "competetive" pvp games where majority playerbase is teenage boys and young adult men. Not an excuse for a lack of basic manners but what can you do except block and ignore.
Or troll back like I do. Guess I'm forever stuck at mental 13 as well.
This is why I block messages. Those people are out there. You will never be able to avoid them. Best to just not receive their verbal diarrhea.
