Within the last couple days (after weekly reset) I have been experiencing massive FPS drops (I was running 120 consistently) and crashes in Destiny 2. The issue happens at random and makes the game unplayable. It does seem to coincide with controller disconnect as well...however, the controller does not disconnect every time it happens. I'm using an Xbox One Wireless Controller connected via Bluetooth. I have checked all of my drivers and they are up to date. System specs below...anyone else experiencing this lately? Note: It is definitely the controller causing the issue. Mouse and Keyboard do not produce the same problem.
Motherboard: ASRock B365 Phantom Gaming 4
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060
Processor: Intel Core i5-9400F 6-Core 2.9 GHz
RAM: Team T-FORCE Vulcan Z 3200MHz 3200 MHz 16GB (2 X 8 GB)
SSD: Intel 665p (1.0 TB)
Operating System: Windows 10 Home

2 RepliesThis is an issue with Windows and your Bluetooth adapter driver, not related to Destiny. If the bluetooth signal between your pc and the controller gets weak, due to distance, a faulty battery on your controller, or the adapter's driver crashing, you'll experience this with any game. Destiny being always online has a specific error, Rutabaga, for when you run the game at a low fps for too long to keep the experience consistent for other players. A fix would be to check if there's a new driver or firmware update for your bluetooth adapter, replacing the adapter with another who has a better antenna, or getting a xbox wireless adapter for your controller. Note that this exact issue will also happen with a dualshock 4 or switch pro controller connected through bluetooth.
