So I have
a False Promises auto rifle rolled with Fluted Barrel/Flared Magwell/Killing Wind/Rampage (with a Rampage Spec mod)
and
a Friction Fire SMG rolled with Hammer Forged Rifling/Steady Rounds/Killing Wind/Rampage (with a Rampage Spec mod)
Which weapon should I choose as my main primary for PvE activities? I don't really want to swap between them all the time so I want to stick to just using one.

Those are actually my two main pve primaries, I use false promises only in atraks and places I need range and use friction fire everywhere else

1 ReplyActually love both weapons. Depends on activity, but Friction Fire is excellent especially with anti-barrier. For false promises, try for a swashbuckler/feeding frenzy roll with high caliber rounds and your choice of barrel. Great weapon. Especially if you throw a minor spec mod on. Love it when people talk weapons, there are some really good weapons in this game right now. Ignore the haters.

Range wise False Promises for sure. Pure close range DPS then Friction Fire is your baby...
-
Smg 360 are not in a good spot atm in fact they never have been only thing false promise has over smg is better range
-
360 autos are still such garbage.
-
You should always choose the right tool for the job. Why limit yourself?

Heritage shotgun or Sniper occupy the top slot in most activities. An AR is the middle Typically a sword for heavy. I’d run a hand cannon in the top slot before an AR or SMG unless I had no choice because of Champions and mod requirements.
-
I run friction fire. Have a roll with field prep and vorpal. It's very good a putting out damage
-
I prefer Friction Fire, but that’s just me
-
3 RepliesWhichever one you can get with vorpal. I have a friction fire with it and love it. Also got one of the Sereph autos with it.
-
Well the SMG can take anti-barrier rounds and overload rounds don’t seem to work well on autos (scouts work better for overloads). So - if you’re doing a lot of pve with champions, maybe the friction fire?
-
Depends, what’s your energy slot? If it’s longer range, go with the smg. If it’s shorter, go with Promises.
-
Neither have good rolls so they both are not good choices.
-
Apples and oranges. They both have their uses.
-
Use what you like. Only you can decide as we are all different with different play styles. What works for me might not work out that well for you.
-
Depends on what you’re using it for and what you have in your energy slot.
